Harry J. Mitchell, Age 92 of Reynoldsville, PA died Friday, September 6, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on February 24, 1932 in Somerfield, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Alice (Boyd) Mitchell. On July 3, 1965, he married his wife of 59 years, Florence E. (Muth) Mitchell. She survives. Harry owned and operated Mitchell Seeding Company. He enjoyed hunting in his tree house, fishing at Cloe Lake, riding his golf cart, and watching NASCAR and Westerns. Harry is survived by 4 children (Penny Hoch and her husband Dennis of Mahaffey, PA, Terry Mitchell and his wife Jennifer of Reynoldsville, PA, Rick Mitchell and his wife Michelle of Pembroke Pines, Florida, and Perry Mitchell and his wife Gina of Punxsutawney, PA) 12 grandchildren (Tiffanee Uplinger & her husband Shane, Heather Kerr, Victoria Sunealitis and her husband Jon, Jennifer Mitchell and her fiancé Kyle Trout, Denny Hoch and his wife Jill, Devon Hoch, Jonathan and Zachary Huey, Amanda Covalt, Alexis and Chelsea Mitchell and Briana Sibenek ), 7 great grandchildren (Easton Owen Uplinger, Matthew, Nathaniel, and Jasmine Maze, Cheyanne Sunealitis, and Olivia and Will Hoch), and a brother (Henry Mitchell and his wife Shirley of Markleysburg, PA). He was preceded in death by his daughter (Krystal Mitchell), infant son (Harry J. Mitchell, Jr.) and siblings (Karoline, Fanny, William, Glenn, and Norman) Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in Luthersburg Union Cemetery. The Fairbury Police Department said Jeffery Sidwell, 34, of Danville was chatting with an underage female for sex related purposes on a social media messaging app and plan to meet that minor in Fairbury on September 13th of 2022. Once he arrived in Fairbury, Sidwell was met by officers from the Fairbury Police Department and taken into custody. In August of 2023, Sidwell pled guilty in that case to Indecent Solicitation of a Child and Traveling to Meet a Minor, both class three felonies. He was sentenced to 180 days in the Livingston County Jail, two years of probation and required to register as a sex offender for 10 years. Investigators say Sidwell was once again allegedly chatting with an underage female for sex related purposes on a social media messaging app and plan to meet at a location in Fairbury. After his previous conviction in 2022, Sidwell failed to register as sex offender, so the carnival did not know he was a sexual predator. Sidwell was charged with Failing to Register as Sex Offender, Indecent Solicitation of a Child, and Traveling To Meeting a Minor, all class three felonies.
