  1. I have used this recipe for years and like it cuz its easy.....I use granny smith or northern spys....

peel and core apples, slice and add sugar couple times while you put them into containers....I let mine sit overnite and can them the next day......

I usually make extra syrup to add to the jars.......

When I make a pie I add the apples and also cinnamon and a couple pieces of butter..

    They all like it here....

oh yea........a canning section would be nice like said before!!!  ;)

  2. Just a couple pictures from my backyard.....the first are a couple of iris's from my front garden...the rest are backyard......1 is the bird feeder corner filled with feeders and flowers....1 is the rock/flower garden....the last 2 pictures are of flowers in 1 bed, would like to know what they are called...... :)

  3. Does anyone make strawberry freezer jam? I would like to give it a try.....I love strawberry preserves, and had some freezer jam on my pancakes last weekend, boy was it good!!

I didnt get any replies that I can remember on this freezer jam.....can anyone help!! Was planning on getting strawberries soon....

  4. I have to redo my flower bed......the landscape timbers are rotting..........

I have a lot of bulbs in there, I'm thinking I'm gonna get some new dirt and make the bed round instead, as in a mound..

Would like to at least get the bulbs out of the dirt before fall, or should I wait? What can I do with the bulbs to keep them over the winter in case I dont get them back in the dirt? I have daffodils, gladiolas, iris's, lily of the valley which I plan on getting out of there altogether...and I'm not sure what else, if there is any thing else......

I also have a couple fall mums transplanted from my aunts house.......which I was surprised that they even came up.......will they keep over the winter in pots? Or should I leave them in the dirt?

Any suggestions will be considered......its gonna be an all day project soon as I can afford to get the new dirt.....

  5. We had to say goodbye to Comet this afternoon.

Australian Sheperd.  She was 14 1/2 years old.

We hope there are a lot of rabbits to chase in Doggy Heaven.  And hopefully Fedex & UPS makes a delivery once in a while so she can raise a little hell again.

What a beautiful dog crazymom...........so sorry you had to say goodbye.........hoping she is enjoying chasing the rabbits in heaven!!

She will be there waiting for you to join someday...........

  6. Don't cut off the spur that is left when the flowers fall off.  That is where it will re-flower.  Don't overwater it and make sure it gets lots of light.

Here's my old variegated Hoya that blooms many times a year.

Believe me........it sure doesnt get overwatered!! lol And it gets lots of morning light...

I think in the 20 years i've had it, I have only transplanted it 2 times......

Hoping to get it to flower more.......I think they are so pretty!

  7. I captured a picture of my hoya in bloom.......this plant is over 20 yrs old and this is only the 2nd time it has bloomed..........and only 1 bloom each time.....what should I be doing to get more out of this plant? I do have a start of it hanging outside on my porch.......this plant that gave birth to the bloom is too big to keep moving in and out........

  8. Well thanks for the thanks.......but they go to someone else on here that taught it to me!!! lol

There was a thread last spring? about the same thing and I remember reading it and thought that was a good idea, so this spring when we put it up we have 2 now and 1 is done with the cap, and the other has a plastic pop bottle cut in half and siliconed upside down on the pole to the 2nd one, which is also filled with water......both work....

  9. I'll show you what we did...........never mind, I'll tell you instead.........lol

I got a cap off a can of paint or the likes.........the one that has a smaller area inside that fits around the nozzle, we put a hole in the middle of the cap and tied it to a string and filled the outer part with water and have not had any ants yet this year.....

I'll get a picture in the morning to show ya.........thought I had one, let me look again!! lol

    Found it and resized it.
