Meatloaf made with Meatloaf Sauce Found this sauce in local grocery in Brockway. Country Meatloaf -- Recipe on jar 1 and half lbs of ground beef; three fourths cup of quick oats; 1 onion chopped. 1 egg slightly beaten; 1 and half teaspoon of salt; half teaspoon of pepper; 1-18 oz jar of Walnut Creek Meatloaf Sauce. Mix together beef, quick oats, onion, egg, salt, pepper and half cup of Meatloaf Sauce. Put in pan pour rest of Meatloaf Sauce over top and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. I had more hamburger so added about three fourths jar sauce.

(KFOR-TV) Game wardens are trying to find out who shot and killed an Oklahoma City great horned owl with millions of followers around the world, according to a report. KFOR-TV reported Friday that the owl was killed Oct. 4 with a pellet gun. Great Horned owls are federally protected and it is a misdemeanor to kill one in Oklahoma. Bald eagle with injured wing rescued after blocking Florida road CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 6, 2016 (UPI) ---------- Authorities in a Florida city blocked two lanes of a busy road to protect an injured bald eagle that ended up stranded in traffic. The Clearwater Police Department said officers and personnel from the Clearwater Fire Department responded Wednesday morning to the middle of a road next to the Westfield Countryside Mall on a report of a bald eagle blocking traffic. Police said the eagle's right wing appeared to have been injured by a car while it was apparently feeding on a dead animal in the road. A video posted to Facebook shows responders protecting the bird of prey while it calmly stands in one of the closed lanes of traffic while awaiting a wildlife rescue specialist. Police said the eagle eventually hobbled out of the roadway and was captured by the specialist. The bird of prey was taken to the Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife to receive treatment for its injury. 13 starving horses in Jefferson County removed through search warrant By Bridget McClure Thursday, September 29th 2016 Thirteen starving horses were removed from a home on Howe Road in Jefferson County through a search warrant under the direction of the Humane Society Police Officer Debbie McAndrew. CORSICA - Thirteen starving horses were removed from a home on Howe Road in Jefferson County through a search warrant under the direction of the Humane Society Police Officer Debbie McAndrew. Charges were filed against Leonard Hughes Thursday for neglecting to properly care for and feed the horses. He's facing 13 summary offenses. According to the search warrant, the horses were found with no hay or grass to eat and no water to drink. Through the help of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, McAndrew and Willow Run Sanctuary & Adoptions, the horses were loaded into multiple trailers on Sept. 15. "They are suffering from severe emaciation from a lack of nutrition and have absolutely no muscle tone at all," Willow Run Sanctuary & Adoptions President Margo Stefanic said. The horses are being housed temporarily at Willow Run. Margo said they were seen by a veterinarian and although they're considered in stable condition, they have a long road to recovery. Due to the degree of neglect, some of the horses may not live. They now have a strict meal plan to follow. They get hay in their stomachs first, and then are gradually introduced to grass to let their digestive systems properly take over. "The ones that are the most extreme, we will watch vigilantly and hope that they will recover but there's no way of knowing if they'll make it for at least a couple months," Stefanic said. Now these 13 horses are looking for forever homes. "We do not own these horses and we don't know which way that will go," Stefanic said. "We hope that the court of law will see favorable, remove the horses and give Willow Run Sanctuary custody." Willow Run Sanctuary is in desperate need of monetary and hay donations. Australian hot dog and hamburger combination 'hamdog' coming to U. PERTH, Australia, Sept. 21, 2016 (UPI) -------- The "Hamdog" a combination between a hot dog and a hamburger created by an Australian man will soon come to the United States. A post on the Hamdog Facebook page announced the food combination would come to South Australia and the U.S. and was seeking retailers in those regions. "America's a bloody big place, they consume around 50 billion burgers a year," inventor Mark Murray told CNBC. "If we pick up even 1 percent of that market, then that's still around $2.5 billion a year." Murray said he came up with the idea for the meat-filled combination, which includes a special bun to accommodate both the burger and the hot dog, while incredibly hungry during a trip to the U.S. in 2004. "I had the idea on holiday when I was leaving a bar in Nashville. I grabbed a burger and a hot dog as I was really hungry," he said. "I was sitting in the car eating them both at the same time and my wife was looking at me like I was an idiot." He later took the invention to Australia's "Shark Tank" television investment show, where it was rejected by the judges. It has since been sold at sporting events in Australia for about $6 each. Dalmatian puppy sneaks into firehouse in Florida BONITA SPRINGS , Fla., Sept. 21,2016 (UPI) ------ A Dalmatian puppy that snuck into a Florida fire station and joined the crew was returned to his owners on Tuesday. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue shared video of the Dalmatian puppy after it wandered into the firehouse early Tuesday morning and made itself at home. "At 2:30am Tuesday morning, a dalmatian mix puppy snuck in and followed the engine into the bay after they had come back from a call," the Facebook post stated. "He eagerly made himself part of the crew. Unfortunately, he can not stay and play. We would like to get him home." Many commenters commended the clever pup for seeking refuge at the firehouse but its owners contacted the station and reclaimed their pet before the day was through. "The Dalmatian that walked into Station 5 has been reunited with his owner! His name is Chico and went missing yesterday," the fire rescue crew wrote.
