Hubby and most of his family are from Sabula.  I even got married in Sabula   My MIL, one of the most amazing women I never had the honor to meet rests in peace in Sabula.

Does anyone know of a cookie recipe made out of a cake mix?

I think it is something like eliminating one of the cake ingrediants.

We make those often in our house.  The kids love them. I have a recipe book at home that has all the different recipes you can do with a cake mix.  Very yummy!  I found this one online:

CAKE MIX COOKIES     

1 pkg. dry cake mix

1/2 c. butter, softened

1 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

Mix all ingredients. Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet 2-inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute, then remove to wire rack.

NOTE: If using yellow cake mix, decrease butter to 1/3 cup. Yield 3 dozen cookies.
