  1. Frederick R. Day, Age 77 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on July 19, 1945 in Massillon, OH, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Hartzfeld) Day. On September 2, 1972, he married his wife of 50 years, Alice M. (Thomas) Day. She survives. Fred was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Vietnam War. He retired as a trooper from the Pennsylvania State Police after 15 years of service. After his retirement, Fred was the owner and operator of DuBois Battery for 27 years. He was an active member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ where he served on the consistory and was a church elder. Fred loved NASCAR, classic cars, and antiques. He enjoyed watching the Discovery and History Channel, and was an avid reader. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Allyson D. Goble & her husband Timothy of Clifton Park, NY. He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Day. There will be no public visitation and a private service will be held with Pastor Robert Newell officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.   2. Ethel L. Johnston, Age 86 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, November 24, 2022 at her home. Born on January 16, 1936 in DuBois, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. & Ethel C. (Cummins) King. She was married to James H. Johnston. He preceded her in death. Ethel retired from Brockway Glass after many years of service. After her retirement, she went back to school and became a registered nurse at ager 62. She worked as an RN for years until her 2nd retirement. She enjoyed reading and sewing. Above all she loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ethel is survived by her two daughters (Ellen Reiter & her husband Kurt of DuBois, PA and Kathleen Harvey & her husband Bruce of Falls Creek, PA) a son (James H. Johnston), 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by two daughters (Vickie Lynn Johnston and Amy J. Warholak), three brothers and 4 sisters. There will be no public visitation. A private family service will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc .with Pastor Kevin Orndorff officiating.   3. Matthew L. Marasco, Jr., age 79 of DuBois, PA passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at his home. Born on January 8, 1943 in Ridgway, PA, he was the son of the late Matthew L. & Natalie M. (Martino) Marasco, Sr. He was married to Rose Ann (Aiello) Marasco. She preceded him in death on May 9, 1989. Matt was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. Matt retired from the United States Postal Service after a 48-year career. He was the friendly face behind the counter with an infectious smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was also a licensed barber in the state of Pennsylvania for over 60 years. He especially enjoyed cutting hair for the residents of Christ the King Manor and the DuBois Nursing Home, a Marasco family trade brought over from Italy by his father Matt Marasco Sr. Matt was a champion bowler at DuBois Lanes and enjoyed hunting. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family, especially at his hunting camp. He was known by some as “The Silver Fox,” “Dad” to many, and “The Godfather.” He was known by all as a hilarious storyteller and the most personable guy you might ever have had the privilege to meet. He is survived by his feline son, Ebony; his human children, Matthew Marasco (and wife Marlo) of Oakdale, PA, and daughter, Nicole Roberts (and husband Brad) of Richmond, VA; grandchildren Lyla Rose Marasco, Vincent Matthew Marasco, Blaine Roberts, and Madison Roberts; a brother, Michael Marasco, of Erie, PA; three sisters, Mary Lou Keneske, (and her husband William) and Consie Frank, both of Johnsonburg, PA, and Christine Mitskavich of DuBois, PA; and his longtime lady friend Rose Smith and her family, Paul, Judy, Susan, Mike and Kendall who were very special to Matt. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10 a.m. from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Helen Louise (Uren) Pinchock, age 99, a life long Eastside resident of DuBois, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at her home with her loving daughters arms around her at 9:57 a.m. Born on April 29, 1923 on Sherman Avenue in DuBois, Helen was the youngest daughter of the late James Uren and Jeanette (Buskirk) Uren and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In 1948, Helen married the love of her life, Edward Albert Pinchock in Mercer, PA. They met at the St. James Hotel dancing in downtown DuBois and enjoyed 64 years of marriage until Ed passed away on Veteran’s Day in 2012. Helen was a DAHS graduate of the Class of 1940 and was known as “PeeWee Uren” because of her tiny, petite structure! She was a lifetime member of Lakeside United Methodist Church in DuBois and was previously active in the Order of the Eastern Star. Helen was also a lifetime member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW Auxiliary where she served as a past Trustee for several terms. She enjoyed helping the ladies in the kitchen for many events held at the VFW and was honored to place flags on every veterans grave at the Morningside Cemetery for Memorial Day services. Helen worked for Sylvania in Emporium, PA, then returned home to DuBois to help her mother. While working at Jeffers Electronics next, she received a very exciting call in September of 1957 that a baby girl was born in Binghamton, NY! She gave immediate notice and was so excited that she just became a mother! Six days later Helen and Ed drove to Binghamton, NY and brought their baby home!! In the late 60’s, Helen attended and graduated from the cosmetology school and maintained her cosmetology license for many years. Lastly, Helen worked for Murphy’s Mart in the merchandising office and retired in 1985. After retiring, Helen and Ed volunteered for Meals on Wheels delivering meals to the community residents for many years. Years ago, Helen enjoyed knitting, dancing polka with Ed at wedding celebrations, canning pickles, watching Days of Our Lives and the QVC channel, she always wrote notes or cards to her daughter and grandson in Kansas. She loved to bake wonderful walnut bread rolls each year around the Christmas holiday to share and loved going to her brother’s camp in First Fork over the years to relax and play cards (Tripoley) till the wee hours in the morning. Most recently, she enjoyed the Hallmark movie channel, Wheel of Fortune and her word scrabble book. Helen loved holidays and special occasions. She went out of her way to make each event spectacular for her family. Helen was very devoted in her faith in God and enjoyed reading her daily devotions. She lived a simple life, enjoyed simple things and was happy! Helen had a very generous heart for the people she cared about. Above all, she and Ed loved spending time together as a family and visiting their daughter and grandson in Kansas. Helen was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Helen is deeply missed by her daughter Debra Renee Lindberg of DuBois, PA and her grandson Dirk Edward Lindberg of Paola, KS, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as other family members. Jack Edward, the family dog misses his Grammie too. Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Vera Uren and her brothers; Everett, Merle, James “Hop” and Don Uren and Percy Fyock. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 12 PM from Lakeside United Methodist Church with Pastor Brett Dinger officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.   5. Stephen J. Burns, age 62 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at his home. Born on March 15, 1960 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Georgene M. (Bearfield) Burns. On May 5, 2001 he married Diane M. (Stammely) Burns. She survives. Along with his wife, Stephen is survived by two brothers; Robert C. Burns and his wife Leigh Ann of DuBois, PA and Jon M. Burns of Reynoldsville, PA and one sister Charlene Malmgren and her husband Dan of Reynoldsville, PA.   6. George W. “Bill” Pringle, age 82 of Penfield, PA died Monday, November 14, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on September 4, 1940 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Earl L. and Evelyn (Doutt) Pringle. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. On November 15, 1985 he married Nancy J. (Slawson) Pringle. She survives. He retired from Penn Traffic after 22 years of service. Bill was a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church where he was the church treasurer, and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. He was very involved with baseball in our area for 50 years. Bill was active in the DuBois Little League for 30 years, coaching and umpiring and was a PIAA baseball and softball official for the past 15 years. He also served as a deputy warden for the Pennsylvania Game Commission and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Along with his wife Nancy, Bill is survived by his children; Jana Snyder and her husband Joel of Richfield, PA, James E. Rosman and his wife Jessica of Cassvillle, PA and Amanda Rosman of DuBois, PA, four grandchildren; Austin, Hunter, Easton and Ella and two sisters; Florence Kulbacki and her husband Stanley of DuBois, PA and Cindy Hanna and her husband Thomas of Reynoldsville, PA. Bill was preceded in death by an infant brother, one brother, John Pringle and sister-in-law Hazel Pringle. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Butch Brunner officiating.   7. Harold W. “Hod” Brubaker, Age 90 of Rockton, PA, died Friday, November 11, 2022 at his home. Born on July 17, 1932 in Rockton, PA, he was the son of the late William C. & Kathleen (Shaffer) Brubaker. On August 4, 1979, he married Janet Bush Brubaker. She preceded her in death on October 25, 2013. Hod was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He retired from Highway Equipment as the parts manager after many years of service. After his retirement he work at Kohlhepp’s Ture Value Hardware. Hod was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rockton enjoyed gardening, bowling, and crossword puzzles. He also loved fishing in Canada, softball, and watching all sports. He as an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hod is survived by his daughter (Karen DeLoia and her husband Tony of DuBois, PA), a son (Kevin Brubaker of Rockton, PA), step Children (Michael McGough & his wife Stephanie of Ocala, FL; Brenda Hendricks & her husband Jeff of Rockton, PA; Diana Horn & her husband Alan of Rockton, PA, Sandi Henry of DuBois, PA, and Cary Platt & her husband Rob and Tara Bennett and her husband Stacey, both of Rockton. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, two brothers (Robert & James Brubaker) and a sister (Margaret Gray). He was preceded in death by his son (Gary Brubaker), his brothers (Forrest & Milton Brubaker), a sister (Shirlee Brownlee) and a step granddaughter (Lexi Wise). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   8. Kathryn Elizabeth “Betsy” Palenski, age 77 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, PA. Born on July 5, 1945 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Dean and Ruth Elizabeth (Swisher) McClure. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and graduated from Clarion University with both a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Library Science Degree. On June 9, 1972 at St. Catherine Of Siena Roman Catholic Church, she married Theodore Paul Palenski. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2019. Betsy had worked as the high school librarian for the St. Mary’s School District until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and AARP. Betsy is survived by two sisters; Diane Sansom and Mary Ruth Petrucci. There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 10 AM from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.   9. Merritt R. Cramer, age 80 of Sigel, PA died Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on March 23, 1942 in Connellsville, PA, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Dahl) Cramer. Merritt was a veteran of the United States Air Force. On September 9, 1965, he married his wife of 57 years, Patricia Riemenschneider Cramer. She survives. Merritt was the Regional Manager for Fishers Big Wheel Department Store for 26 years and was owner/operator of Scooters Bar & Grill in Mt. Pleasant, PA for 31 years. Merritt touched every heart that he met and put into his life. He will be missed by many and remembered by most. Along with his wife, Merritt is survived by one daughter (Michele Leighty of Sigel, PA) and one great grandson (Blake L. Shultz). He was preceded in death by one daughter (Kimberly Cramer Valdez) and one brother (Donald Cramer). As per Merritts wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.   10. Patricia L. “Patty” Muth, age 74 of DuBois, PA passed away very peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on April 22, 1948 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mae (Bish) Muth. Patty was a 1967 graduate of the DuBois Area High School and a graduate of the New Castle School of Trades in New Castle, PA. She had worked at Goodwill Industries for over 30 years. She was a faithful member and attendee of Light and Life Free Methodist Church in DuBois and had previously been the secretary for Sunday school. Patty was a cancer free survivor after having had surgery in 1996. She was dearly loved by her family. Patty is survived by one sister; Shirley (Muth) Patton, nephews; Darrell J. (Sarah) Patton, Jr. of DuBois, PA and Jonathan P. (Denise) Patton of Greer, SC, grandnieces; Morgan, Isabel, and Olivia of Greer, SC, and grandnephew; Evan Patton of DuBois, PA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 10 AM until the time of service at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   11. Lisa Ann Graffius Blasdell, age 59 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born on September 23, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Rachel R. Farbo Graffius. Lisa grew up in Punxsutawney, PA and graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1981. She went on to graduate from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1985 and earned a Master of Education Degree in 1990. On April 18, 1998, Lisa married Donald P. Blasdell at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in DuBois. They shared 24 wonderful years of marriage. Lisa’s greatest joy was their daughter Cietta Elise Blasdell, born on March 26, 2006. Lisa was an exceptional mother and loved CeCe more than anything. Lisa began her teaching career at DuBois Central Catholic in 1985 and had continued in education at various levels and administration at DuBois Central Catholic ever since. Lisa loved the students and faculty as family. Her infectious laugh and positive words inspired many. She loved every moment of her 37 years at DuBois Central Catholic. Lisa was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She had a beautiful voice and sang for many years in choir and at many weddings. Lisa’s family, her faith and her students were most important in her life. She was a devoted wife and mother, a caring and exceptional teacher, a loving sister and the fun and adventurous aunt to her two nieces who lovingly called her Aunt Titi. Along with her husband and daughter, Lisa is also survived by one sister (Francene Thomas and her husband Tim), four nieces (Meagan and Taylor Thomas and Kristen and Kathryn Rusnak), sister-in-law (Denise Rusnak) and brother-in-law (John Blasdell and his wife Diane). She was preceded in death by one brother-in-law (John Rusnak). Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 11 AM from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Father Edward Walk as celebrant.   12. Hannah Mae Marshall, age 92 formerly of Patterson Ave., DuBois, PA , died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on February 18, 1930 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Kozminski) Ball. On October 5, 1947 she married her high school sweetheart, John F. “Chum” Marshall. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2019. Hannah was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. She formerly attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in DuBois, and weekly Sunday church services at the DuBois Nursing Home. Hannah is survived by her daughter, Anelia Lucas and her husband Ron of Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA. Known as Nana, she was the cherished grandmother to John Yount and his wife Kristie of DuBois, PA and Dr. Kristin Horvath and her husband Christopher of Mars, PA, and a very special great grandmother to Ian Yount of DuBois, PA, Mason Yount of Roanoke, VA, Christian Yount of Antigua, B.W.I. and Madeleine and Nolan Horvath of Mars, PA. She is also survived by two brothers, Morgan “Flip” and James Ball, and two sisters, Thomasina Raybuck and Mary Jane Smith, all of DuBois, PA. Hannah was preceded in death by two brothers; Infant Thomas Ball and John Ball and two sisters Margaret Hayes and Linda Resinger. The family of Mrs. Marshall is forever thankful for the care and love given to her by the staff at the DuBois Nursing Home. Nana will be greatly missed and loved forever. In observing Hannah’s wish, there will be no public visitation.   13. Jessica Dawn (Strishock) Swisher, age 43 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at her home after a courageous, hard fought battle with cancer. Born on March 14, 1979 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of Mark and Paula (Seary) Strishock. Her parents survive and live in DuBois. On July 3, 1999, she married Matthew R. Swisher. He survives. Jessica was a 1997 graduate of DuBois Central Catholic High School and had worked as a licensed esthetician. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was a devoted wife and mother. Along with her husband and parents she is survived by her three children; Nicolas, Julian and Sadie Swisher. She is also survived by one brother Mark E. Strishock, Jr. and his wife Kristy of Clearfield, PA, two sisters; Jenna Nedzinski and her husband Drew and Stephanie Weber and her husband Jonathan both of DuBois, PA, her maternal grandmother Ethel Seary and her paternal grandmother Rhoda Strishock, both of DuBois, PA and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather John “Jiggs” Seary and her paternal grandfather Stephen A. Strishock, Sr., and one uncle Randy Strishock.   15. Reverend Deacon George M. Fatula, Sr., MD, 77, of DuBois, PA passed away on October 28, 2022, at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on February 17, 1945, in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late George and Ann Fatula. George was married to Renetta Bertugli on August 22, 1970, in Duquesne, PA. She preceded him in death by 6 days on October 22, 2022. George graduated from Duquesne High School in 1963. He attended Washington and Jefferson College and graduated in 1967 with a degree in Chemistry. He received his medical degree in 1971 from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his residency from 1972-74 at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh specializing in pediatric and adolescent medicine. In 1971 George was commissioned as a Reserve Officer in the United States Army. His duty was deferred through his residency training. In 1974, as he was about to be activated, he was issued an inactive ready status as he accepted the position to serve the community of DuBois. He was honorably discharged in 1977 as a Captain. In 1974 he was recruited by the DuBois and Maple Avenue Hospitals to be the first pediatrician in DuBois. He opened his first office on July 22, 1974, at the Deposit Bank Building. He is credited with forming the pediatric unit at the DuBois Hospital and was instrumental in organizing the area’s first neonatal intensive care unit at the Maple Avenue Hospital with his associate Dr. Donald Orris. His practice expanded from DuBois to also include the Punxsutawney and Brookville areas. One of his many career highlights was being awarded the 2006 “Pediatrician of the Year” from the American Academy of Pediatrics Pennsylvania Chapter. George continued to practice until September 2018 when his health forced his retirement. George was ordained to the Diaconate on July 13, 2003, by the Metropolitan Archeparchy of Pittsburgh. His ordination was a culmination of his devotion to his religious life. George was a member of the Nativity of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church in DuBois. He and his wife were lifelong catechists. George was also best known as a bingo caller at the weekly Nativity Bingo for over 35 years. In 1984 George was awarded the St. Nicholas Award as the “Byzantine Catholic Man of the Year”. George was a sports enthusiast. This was evident by his many endeavors as a parent, coach, and team doctor. George enjoyed watching and coaching his children and grandchildren through the years. George was the last manager in DuBois Little League history to lead a Little League (12-year-olds) Baseball team to a state championship in 1991. He spent decades providing his physician services to the DuBois Area School District on the sidelines at football games, mat side at the wrestling matches, and providing sports physicals. He personally enjoyed his bowling, golf, and hunting. Community service and charity were extremely important to George. He started young and worked to earn his Eagle Scout Award. This led to a lifetime of service with the Bucktail Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He earned several awards for this service. He was a member of the DuBois Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus in his current position as Chaplain. He and his wife were known for their charity and supported many organizations including Make a Wish and the Rotary Club. His support of the Rotary Club earned him a Paul Harris Fellow award. The DuBois Area Jaycees honored George for his years of service in the area with the “Distinguished Service Award” in 2008. George leaves behind 5 children: George, Jr. (Amy) Fatula of DuBois, Renetta Morelli (Neil Keilen) of Frederick, MD, Edward (Angela) Fatula of Ellicott City, MD, Daniel (Crystal) Fatula of DuBois, and Tara (Matthew) McNally of Durham, NC; 9 grandchildren: Kayla (Brandon) Small, Laura Fatula, Keith Fatula, Margaret Fatula, Alexander Fatula, Maya Fatula, Benjamin Fatula, Andrew McNally, and Ryan McNally; a sister, Barbara (Gerald) Longstreth; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Barry) Mylan and Emilia Bertugli; and a brother-in-law Christopher (Margie) Bertugli.   16. Wade M. Dixon, age 75 of Sabula, PA died at his home. Born on July 28, 1947 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Clifford and Jennie (Smith) Dixon. Wade was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. On July 27, 2002 he married Mary Ann (Hockman) Dixon. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2013. Wade retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry after over 30 years of service. He owned and operated Dixon Century Farms for over 50 years. He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, the James T. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Pulaski Club and the Hickory Grange. Wade was a volunteer for the American Red Cross during the 2005 Hurricane Katrina Recovery efforts. He also enjoyed auto racing and restoring antique tractors. She was a past member of the Lakeside United Methodist church in DuBois where she had been a member of the choir, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ft.   18. Darrell Lee Haag, age 88 of DuBois, PA formerly of Sykesville, PA, died peacefully, Saturday, October 22, 2022 at his home. Born on January 16, 1934 in Troutville, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert L. and Catholeen V. (Bonnett) Haag. Darrell was a 1953 graduate of Sykesville Henderson High School. He was a veteran the United States Army having served with Company B in Korea and later served in the active reserves with the 629th Transportation Company. On September 20, 1958 he married his wife of 64 years, Marilyn A. Kuntz. She survives. Darrell retired from Triangle Auto Springs after 44 years of service. After retirement, he worked as a van driver for the Hahne Cancer Center for 20 years. He was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church and the James J. Patterson Post #813 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved to golf, fish and hunt. He enjoyed every family gathering and attending his grandchildren’s many activities.   19. Patricia Ann Pinchock, age 86 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Christ the King Manor. Born on June 26, 1936 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eliet and Edythe (Lavella) Penvose. Patricia married Paul Thomas Pinchock on April 11, 1959. They were married for 53 years until his death on May 10, 2012. Patricia was a factory worker at Rola Jensen and ended her career as an executive secretary at Murphy Mart. Patricia was a member of the American Legion Post 17 and served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW where she enjoyed working in the kitchen for Friday night bingo. She took great pride and never missed presenting wreaths at Morningside Cemetery to show her respect and appreciation to all of our veterans during the annual Memorial Day services. She enjoyed golf, shooting pool, darts, playing cards and bowling; priding herself as a member of the 600 club. She loved watching the Golden Girls, Jeopardy, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and all of the Christmas Movies on the Hallmark Channel. She also enjoyed dancing and was often found entertaining the residents and staff at Christ the King Manor. Most of all Patricia enjoyed her family. She empathetically cared for both of her parents until their passing and honorably took over the family traditions they instilled in her. Proud of her Italian heritage, she prepared many Roman Holiday meals and gathering family together to prepare ravioli for the holidays. Patricia will be deeply missed by her daughters, Paula DuBois and her husband Jeff and Pam Walsh, both of DuBois, PA. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her brother, James Penvose, grandchildren Ashley Ankeny, Jeff Snyder, Sean DuBois, and Brendan DuBois, and great grandson Ryder Ankeny Snyder, who after all of the years of Patricia being referred to as “Nona”, changed her name to “Nana”.   22. Renetta D. Bertugli Fatula, age 75, of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022 at Christ the King Manor. Born on July 28, 1947, in Waynesburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Remo E. and Margaret Bertugli. Renetta was married to Dr. George Fatula, Sr. on August 22, 1970, in Duquesne, PA. He survives in DuBois. Renetta was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson Morgan High School and a 1968 graduate of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She became a registered nurse and worked in the Pittsburgh area as her husband completed his medical training. In 1974, the family relocated to DuBois, PA, when her husband accepted his position as the first pediatrician in DuBois. At that time Renetta focused her time on raising their children in their new home. Renetta was known in DuBois for her volunteer and charitable deeds. She was a dedicated member of the Nativity of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church. Through the years she was active as a catechist and most notably as a weekly Nativity Bingo worker and player for more than 35 years. She supported her husband through his ordination as a Deacon in the church. Additionally, she had served in the hospital auxiliary planning the holiday ball and volunteered with the girl scouts. Renetta, alongside her husband, was active in supporting fundraising events for Make A Wish, DuBois Lions Club, the Rotary Club, and many others. She had a love of quilting and had joined and led local quilting groups. She and George traveled the world. Renetta will be remembered as a dedicated mother and grandmother. She raised 5 children, and spent countless hours at sporting events, dance recitals, and high school musicals. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and attending their events.   23. Patricia Daminka “Minky” Kulbatsky, age 98, of DuBois, PA, died Friday, October 21, 2022. Born on March 2, 1924 in DuBois, PA, Patricia was the daughter of the late William and Constance (Teresavich) Ivoska. Patricia married Leo Adam Kulbatsky on October 12, 1946. They were married for 53 years until his death on January 18, 2000. Patricia was proud of her Lithuanian heritage, and was active in her community as a member of the former St. Joseph Lithuanian Roman Catholic Church, Lithuanian Independence Club, and Knights of Lithuania Council #86. For 23 years, she worked as a detailer at Jackson China in Falls Creek, PA. After her retirement in 1986, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and, later, volunteering at the DuBois Regional Medical Center, where she logged over 5,000 hours of service. Patricia loved cooking up Lithuanian and Polish dishes and getting dressed up and going dancing. From local dances to polka weekends, she often attributed her healthy long life to dancing. She also stayed active by taking daily walks at the park or around her neighborhood. In the springtime, she would often take her children and, later, grandchildren, to pick skyrockets, daffodils, or lilacs in the woods. Being an avid reader, she always had a mystery or romance novel on the arm of her chair, and she was known for telling a good joke and making those around her laugh. She was a good listener and conversationalist, and made many long-lasting friendships over the years. Mostly, Patricia enjoyed being with her family, making sure everyone was well-fed, comfortable, and included. A beloved and independent matriarch, Patricia, known over the years as Mom, Grandma, Gram, Bear, GG, and GG Bear, will be deeply missed by her children, Connie Eling (Burnsville, MN), John Kulbatsky and his wife, Patty, (Falls Creek, PA), Debra Gallagher and her husband, Barry, (State College, PA), and Mark Kulbatsky (Reynoldsville, PA), 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. Renosky at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Sykesville, PA. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2010. Tillie retired from Brockway Pressed Metals. She grew up in Stump Creek (Kramer), PA and attended the Kramer and Sykesville High School. As a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Tillie was active with the Rosary Infant of Prague Society. She participated and had devoted much of her time in many of the activities of the church, preparing funeral luncheons and working for the St. Michael Polish Festival. Attending daily mass was her joy and fulfillment of God’s love. She was a member of the Blue Army World Apostolate of Fatima. Tillie enjoyed her many travels with her husband Paul to the many holy shrines some of which were Fatima, Austria, Slovenia, Medjugorje, and Guadalupe. As a volunteer, she was a member of R.S.V.P. where she served at the DuBois Continuum of Care Community’s Nursing Home where she prayed the rosary every Tuesday for many years. She also served at the DuBois Food Pantry. She enjoyed reading, dancing, and doing various types of puzzles. Her family and her grandchildren were her joy and delight. Tillie is survived by her five children (Richard Renosky of DuBois, PA, Paula Read (David) of Indiana, PA, Christine Bell of Marysville, PA, Diane Kessler (Gregory) of Marysville, PA, and Darlene Toffry (Robert) of Abingdon, MD), six grandchildren (Ryan Read, Stephen & Jessica Bell, Alex & Nathan Kessler, and Kristi Toffry), and one great granddaughter (Mara Jade Bell). Tillie was preceded in death by her four brothers (Mirko, Luttie, William & Herman Rehar) and two infant siblings (Matilda & Frank Rehar). She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. The rosary will be prayed Sunday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 10 a.m. from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Matias Quimno as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.   25. Karen M. Ross, age 74 of Falls Creek, PA died Monday, October 17, 2022 at Mountain Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, PA. Born on February 17, 1948 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Neal and Anna (Carlson) Buganza. Karen was a 1966 graduate of the DuBois Area High School. In 1968 she married Timothy R. Ross. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2021. Karen had been employed at Jackson China in Falls Creek, PA for over 20 years, she had also worked at the Courier Express. She is survived by one son (Timothy Ross of Falls Creek, PA) and one sister (Barbara Girard, Erie, PA). Along with her husband and parents, Karen was preceded in death by one daughter (Susan Ross) and one brother (William Buganza). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 10 – 11 AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Harold Hills officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
