Kathleen Rose Kunkle, 74, passed away Friday, Jan.29, 2021, at the home of her sister, Elizabeth H. Kunkle, after a long illness. She was born at the Brookville, Pa., Hospital on April 23, 1946, the first child of Jean Marie Garbarino Kunkle and William P. Kunkle of Clarion, Pa. Kathy graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1964 and after working locally for a year, took off for Washington, DC. She spent her life doing Human Resource work in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Boston, and in our nation’s capital. She spent many years working for AT&T at the CIA headquarters and lastly retiring from BEA Enterprises. Kathy loved to travel and spent time in South America, Africa, and locales across Europe. She particularly enjoyed taking along her niece or one of her 5 nephews on her vacations. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by a brother William Kunkle & his wife Kate and a sister Elizabeth Kunkle, both of DuBois. She is also survived by a brother Daniel & his wife Rachel of Cambridge, England. Also surviving their beloved aunt are her niece Matilda and nephews Jack and Milo Kunkle of England, and Will, Ben, and Andy Kunkle of the USA. As per the Kathy’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. The family will celebrate her life at a later date. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery. Diana L. (Verbka) Swope, age 73 of Luthersburg, PA, died Tuesday, January 26,2021 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on July 4, 1947 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rudy and Dolly (Salsgiver) Verbka, Sr. On September 29, 1973 she married Michael D. Swope, Sr. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2014. Diana was a homemaker and was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Luthersburg, PA. She was a kind soul who will be missed by many. Diana always lit up a room and enjoyed being around people. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by 1 son (Michael D. Swope, Jr. and his wife Wendy) and 1 daughter (Rebecca S. Bentley and her husband Kevin) both of DuBois, PA, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter (Melissa Miller), 2 grandchildren; (Harley and Jamie Schuckers) and 1 brother (Rudy Verbka, Jr.). Brian C. Black, age 50 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on January 17, 1971 in Ridgway, PA, he was the son of Thomas and Melinda (Boyer) Black. They survive. Brian enjoyed hunting and using his computer for many activities. Brian is survived by 2 brothers; (Michael Black and his wife Shelby of Reno, OH and his twin brother Bradley Black and his wife Paula of Brockway, PA) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his 2 beloved service dogs. There will be no public visitation and a funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Robert H. Albert, age 63 of DuBois, PA, died Friday, January 22, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on April 1, 1957 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Robert N. and Alta Mae (Divins) Albert. He had worked as a heavy truck mechanic and Warranty Manager at Murray’s Freightliner in DuBois, PA until he retired in 2018 after 42 ½ years of service. Bob was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church in DuBois, a life member of the J.E. DuBois Hose Company #3, and was a member of Central District Volunteer Fireman’s Association. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by 1 daughter (Ashley Albert of Reynoldsville, PA) and 2 sisters; (Barbara Garda of Dysart, PA and Karen Hilliard of DuBois, PA). Wilson H. Rankin, age 90 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home. Born on January 18, 1931 in Kittanning, PA, he was the son of the late Ira Wilson Rankin and Vernon Wilamina (Wagoner) Rankin. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II in the European Theatre. Wilson worked in the casino industry and was a pit boss for many years in Nevada and New Jersey. He was a member of both the Brookville and Sykesville Eagles where he was a charter member and Post 204 Brookville Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by 4 sons; (Wilson Douglas Rankin and Thomas L. Rankin both of New Castle, PA, Barry Rankin of Cleveland, OH and Andrew Rankin of Sparks, NV), 4 daughters; (Crystal White of Mercer, PA, Paula Hutchins of Harmony, PA, Sotira Frawley of Sparks, NV and Ashley Godfrey of GA), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and 1 brother Howard L. Rankin of DuBois, PA. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter (Ruth Ann Byllick), 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Richard A. “Dick” Reasinger, Jr. age 61, of Rockton, PA, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his home. Born on December 13, 1959 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Richard A. Reasinger, Sr. and Barbara A. (Glatt) Reasinger. Dick was a self-employed timber broker for many years and had worked for Brookville Wood Products. He was a member of the Penfield Firemen’s Club and enjoyed fly fishing, and hunting. Dick is survived by 2 brothers; (Jerry A. Reasinger of DuBois, PA and Mark A. Reasinger of Colorado Springs, CO). John Luther Loving, age 83, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 15, 2021. John was born on September 12, 1937 in DuBois, PA. He was the only son of the late John and Caroline Loving. He was pre-deceased by his parents. John grew up in DuBois, graduating from DHS with the class of 1955. He attended the University of Kentucky and graduated in 1959, with a BS degree in mechanical engineering. During his career he worked for several international corporations involved in design and construction of major infrastructure projects. Much of his career included assignments all over the world, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. He last worked for Parsons Corp in Pasadena, CA, specializing in airport design and construction. He retired in 2002, after completing a major expansion of Cleveland International Airport in Ohio. Upon retirement, he returned to his home town and settled in Treasure Lake. John was a man of multiple interests and hobbies. He was a rabid fan of his U.K. Wildcats basketball team. An accomplished marksman and archer in his teen years, he was a car enthusiast, as well as an enthusiast of antique transportation machinery. He restored a steam powered launch, in which he enjoyed sailing for many years, and was his pride and joy. John had many friends located around the country and in Europe. He was married only once in 1967, to a Danish girl. No children resulted from that union, and although the marriage ended, the two remained very good friends the remainder of their lives. John was an avid reader, a history buff, and very knowledgeable of American and European history. He was knowledgeable on a variety of subjects, which made him an interesting and accomplished conversationalist. John was generous with his know how, and help for his friends. He would do anything for you. He will be deeply missed by his friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10 AM – 11 AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Joseph R. Maleski, age 85 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Highlandview Healthcare in Brockway, PA. Born on November 11, 1935 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Enoch and Ida (Ball) Maleski. He was a veteran of the United states Air Force having served during the Korean War. Joe had been self employed as a painter for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed fly fishing in Kettle Creek, hunting, polka dancing and going to the YMCA on a daily basis. He is survived by 3 sons; (Steven M. Maleski & his wife Stacey Mumma of DuBois, PA, Brian V. Maleski & his wife Lori of Rockton, PA, and Ronald J. Maleski of DuBois, PA), 4 grandchildren; (Brian, Joseph, John and Heather Maleski) and 1 brother (Gerald Maleski of Massillion, OH). Dolores “Dolly” Jean Fairman Gearhart, age 84 of Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA went to heaven to be with the Lord on January 16, 2021 at Christ The King Manor. Born on August 3, 1936 in DuBois, PA, Dolly was the daughter of Eleanor Reed Fairman and William Fairman, Jr. She was raised with her family in Luthersburg, PA on the Hahne Brewery Farm. She moved to DuBois when Fairman Farm was established in 1953. Her first job was delivering milk with her father. She attended Brady High School and graduated from DuBois High School in 1954. Dolly was employed by the Worker’s Loan Office, Riverside Markets and B.F. Goodrich Corporation before taking a position with DuBois Area School District where she worked as a secretary for 25 years, mostly at Juniata Elementary. Dolly married Alvin Gearhart on October 27, 1957 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He survives. They resided in Pittsburgh for 3 years before returning to DuBois and Treasure Lake where they spent many happy years. Dolly was a member of First Baptist Church in DuBois and the Treasure Lake Church. She was an excellent homemaker, cook and a beautiful woman inside and out. She went above and beyond to care for all of her family. She was a wonderful wife and absolutely fantastic, loving and selfless mother. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alvin W. Gearhart, daughter Allison Gearhart Cornelius, sister Peggy Fairman Dickey and brothers Tom Fairman and Richard Fairman. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William Fairman III, son in law Bruce Cornelius and an infant son. Richard Louis “Dick” Fioravanti of DuBois passed away January 15, 2021 at Christ the King Manor. He was known as “Uncle Dick” to everyone. Uncle Dick was born December 1, 1930 in DuBois to the late Anao “Naylor” and Mary (Bergotti) Fioravanti. He graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1948 in a class of 28 students. Uncle Dick’s first job was as a brick layer for .39 cents an hour then, was employed at the DuBois Brewery. He served in the Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany. When he returned, he lived and worked construction in CA and FL. Uncle Dick was a longtime employee of Brockway Glass as Group Leader Application Development Management Information Services, where he retired December, 1988. He was a member of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, the Big O, Litts Club, Pulaski Club, the VFW and the Fraternal of the Eagles. I’m sure there are a few we missed. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Nicholas Fioravanti (wife Antoinette survives). He is survived by his sister with whom he resided, Angelina “Angie” Lucia Russell. His nieces and nephew, (Denise (Tim) Tomco of North Versailles, Corrine (Randy) Jackson of North Huntingdon, Louis (Stacey) Russell, Jr. of Erie and Nicole (Cory) Sawyers of DuBois), 11 great nephews and nieces, (Robbie and Kenny (Jayme) Tomco, Nicholas and Benjamin Jackson, Taylor, Teddy (fiancé Caitlyn) and Olivia Russell, Mia, Alex and Ryan Kovalyak & Santino Sawyer), Great-Great nephew and niece Jace and Raegan Tomco. Uncle Dick’s memory for stories, dates and names was phenomenal, his story telling was second to none. In the early 1960’s Uncle Dick and a couple of friends left for a Notre Dame football game on Thursday and got to the game on Saturday at the end of the 3rd quarter. When we asked what took so long, he said “there are a lot of bars between here and South Bend”. We are sure he could still name all the bars. He loved to watch any sport that his nephews and nieces were playing. Uncle Dick we love you and we all will miss you. Virginia M. Hamaker, age 93 of Reynoldsville, PA died Monday, January 11, 2021 at her home. Born on April 20, 1927 in Adrian, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Powell) Crooks. In 1945 she married Daniel J. Hamaker. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2009. Virginia worked at C.G. Johnson Elementary School in Reynoldsville, PA as an aide. Previous to that, she worked at the Sylvania Company in Brookville, PA. She was a member of the Reynoldsville Presbyterian Church where she served as a past Elder and Deacon. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Virginia is survived by 1 son; (David A. Hamaker & his wife Kathleen of DuBois, PA), 3 grandchildren; (Colette Gerber & her husband Michael and Jason & Daniel Hamaker) and 2 great grandchildren; (Paige & Peyton Dushac) and 1 great-great grandchild (Colton Dushac). She was preceded in death by her son (Daniel T. Hamaker), 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Dolores M. Dill, Age 84 of DuBois, PA died Friday, January 8, 2021 at Christ the King Manor. Born on November 6, 1936 in Weedville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alice M. Dill. Dolores was a graduate of the Weedville High School Class of 1955 and the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1958. She was employed as a registered nurse at the Maple Avenue Hospital and the DuBois Nursing Home. She retired after 39 years of service. She was catholic by faith and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. Dolores was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, two aunts, and two uncles. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Genevieve “Gen” Doksa, age 95 of Bellefonte, PA, formerly of DuBois, PA died Friday, January 8, 2021 at Nelson’s Golden Years. Born on December 16, 1925 in Eriton, PA, (West Liberty), she was the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Petro) Baranoski. On July 23, 1949 she married Chester “Chet” Doksa. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2010. Gen was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Infant of Prague Society. Gen is survived by her daughter (Mona Jean Barr and her husband John “Jack”of Charlotte, NC) and her son (Donald C. Doksa and his wife Vicki of Bellefonte, PA), 4 grandchildren; (Kelley Jean Barr Moore & Peter Barr and Jason Doksa & Jenna Doksa King), 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; (Josephine Krulia of Pittsburgh, PA and Bernice Rydbom of Meadville, PA). She was preceded in death by 2 brothers; (Frank and Walter Baranoski) and 3 sisters; (Mary Vesnesky, Dorothy Ball and Phyllis Godak). Yolanda M. “Yola” Sekula, age 97 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, January 7,2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 12, 1923 in Brockway, PA, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary Grace (Parulo) Paladino. On July 24, 1942 she married Stanley J. Sekula. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1970. She was a graduate of Brockway Area High School Class of 1941. She and her husband founded and operated Sekula Sign Company in 1946. Yola served as secretary/treasurer of Sekula Sign Corporation until the sale of the company in 2018. During those many years, she was an integral part of the success of the company. Yola was involved in numerous community activities. She was a member of DuBois Hospital Auxiliary and served three terms as President. She was Treasurer for the DuBois Hospital Grill and Gift Shop for many years. She served on the Clearfield Jefferson Mental Health Board. She was the first woman appointed to the former DuBois Hospital Board. She served as President of the Board during the Planning and Consolidation of the DuBois and Maple Avenue Hospitals. She served as a member and Secretary/Treasurer of the new DuBois Regional Medical Center Board of Directors. She was the first woman to receive the DuBois Area Jaycees Distinguished Service Award in 1989. Yola was member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and served as Eucharistic Minister. She was also a volunteer at the DuBois Central Catholic for many years. Yola is survived by her son (Paul J. Sekula and his wife Gail of DuBois, PA), a sister (Jenny Botts of Raleigh, NC), three granddaughters; (Stacey Frank and her husband Tommy of DuBois, PA, Kelly Sekula and her wife Denise Todd of Collegeville, PA and Katherine “Kadie” Smith and her husband Chad of Mercer, PA) and seven great grandchildren; (Jordan, Jackson and Jessy Frank, Austin, Alana, Sierra and Brooklyn Smith) and 2 step grandchildren; (Christopher and Kaitlyn Todd). She was preceded in death by five brothers; (Albert, Daniel, Angelo, Tony and Patsy Paladino) and two sisters; (Carmella Bruno and Susan Raspatello). Arlene M. Webster, age 55 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on July 17, 1965 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Karen (Myers) Overbeck. In October of 1983 she married Adam J. Webster. He survives and lives in DuBois. Arlene was a homemaker and had previously worked at Christ The King Manor. She enjoyed painting and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by 1 son (Jessee A. Webster of DuBois, PA) and 2 brothers; (Eugene Overbeck, Jr. of Luthersburg, PA and Scott Overbeck of Rathmel, PA). Barbara L. Waddell, age 90 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Christ The King Manor. Born on July 24, 1930 in Clearfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Rema (Caldwell) Fister. On February 13, 1953 she married Harry Waddell. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1992. Barb was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois, PA, enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved to spend time with her family. Irene V. Flanders, age 92 of Gibsonia, PA, formerly of DuBois, PA, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Cheswick Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Cheswick, PA. Born on November 16, 1928 in Soldier, PA, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Anna (Mehok) Yanek. On August 26, 1950 she married Richard “Dick” Flanders. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2003. Irene had worked at Jeffers Electronics and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where she had been a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed country line dancing and polka dancing. Irene is survived by 1 daughter (Valerie Stimmel & her husband Paul of Gibsonia, PA and 2 sons; (Joseph “Randy” Flanders & his wife Susan of Fort Myers, FL and Rodney A. Flanders & his wife Toni of DuBois, PA), 1 daughter in law (Gay Flanders of DuBois, PA) 8 grandchildren and 6 great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by 1 son (Richard L. Flanders), 3 brothers (Steve, Nicholas, & Joseph Yanek), and 1 sister (Mary Ann Kennedy). Due to our current circumstances there be no public visitation. Mary L. Akins, age 77 of DuBois, PA, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA. Born on June 30, 1943 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ronald F. and Mary Martha (Galentine) Swope). She married Edwin Akins. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1998. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed doing puzzles, crafts and loved to go to yard sales. Mary is survived by 3 sisters; (Annabelle Brubaker and Eileen Swope both of Luthersburg, PA and Linda Kunselman of DuBois, PA) and longtime companion (Ted Haag of DuBois, PA) and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 brother (Ronald Swope) and 1 sister (Gwendolyn Turnbull). Marjorie A. Carlson, age 81 of Brookville, PA, formerly DuBois, PA died Sunday, December 27, 2020 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA. Born on March 25, 1939 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. & Anna M. (London) Carlson. Margie was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois, PA and attended Living Hope Church in Brookville, PA. Margie had a deep commitment to the Lord. Margie loved to cook and would make special desserts. She was very devoted to making phone calls and sending cards to family and friends on special occasions and important dates. Above all, she loved be with her family. She is survived by 1 sister Carol J. Snell of Hilton, NY whom she spoke with daily,1 brother William D. Julia Ann Bojalad, Age 85 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on November 28, 1935 in Westville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John & Loretta (Morris) Greenalch. In 1959, she married Charles R. Bojalad. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1989. Julia was a graduate of Brockway High School and the Clarion Teachers College. She retired from the Brockway Area School District as an elementary school teacher after 40 years of service. Julia was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Julia was on of the founding members of the Friendship Hose Company # 2 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, and loved QVC. She is survived by 2 children (Charlene L. Bojalad and her wife Joyce Brackbill of Camp Hill, PA and John F. Bojalad and his wife Christina of DuBois, PA); 5 grandchildren (Jazmine, Zachary, Paige, Julia, and Mindy); a sister (Mary Lou Nosker of Hazen, PA); and a brother (John “Jack” Greenalch of Folsom, CA). Julia was preceded in death by an infant son (Casey R. Bojalad). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Velma B. Forsythe, age 92 formerly of Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA died Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Laurelbrooke Personal Care Home after a difficult battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born on April 27, 1928 in Brownsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Leyland) Brown. Velma was a 1946 graduate of Centerville High School. She went on to graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1950 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Education and was active in several sororities. In August of 1950 she married Forrest Forsythe. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was a loyal member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and served on many boards and leadership positions. Over the years Velma worked for several businesses and was the owner of Forsythe Business Services. She was listed as Who’s Who in the world and Who’s Who in America for more than 10 years. Her love of travel and the people of the world led her to visit and spend time in over ninety countries and all seven continents. She also worked with the International Executive Service Corporation as a volunteer Executive Consultant to help small business development overseas. She did many mission trips and loved to share her experiences with church groups and nursing homes throughout the area. Velma is survived by her daughters;( Leslie Hill & her husband Jeffrey of Jacksonville, FL, Lynn McGuire & her husband Jerry of Rochester Mills, PA), grandsons; Michael McGuire of Portland, OR, Brian McGuire & wife Katie of Verona, PA) and great granddaughter (Jordyn McGuire). She was preceded in death by her brothers; (Colonel George A. Brown and Ernest H. Brown) and infant sister (Nancy). There will be no public visitation and a private family funeral service will be held Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ohio. Thomas Tinker, a teacher at Jeff Tech, passed on to heaven on December 26, 2020, after a 21-month battle with brain cancer. Thomas Tinker was born on February 9, 1957, to Ben and Norma Tinker of Dubois, PA. His father Ben precedes him in death. He married Amy Tinker (Nemeth) in 1980. They were blessed with 40 years of love and friendship. They had two children Michael and Stefanie. Stefanie passed away 1997 and met Tom in heaven. He was a teacher at Jeff Tech for 23 years following 12 years of teaching at Triangle Tech. He loved his work. His students brought him great joy. He was a member of the Life Community Church and took every opportunity to serve his church and community. His believed in Jesus’s first and second great commandments, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. His life is a testament to these commandments. In 2011, his lifelong dream became a reality and he designed and built his own home on his family farm. When he wasn’t finishing the house, he enjoyed reading historical novels, watching the Steelers and Pirates play, playing word games on his iPad and eating ice cream. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 1, 2021 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm from Life Community Church 5368 Shaffer Rd, DuBois, PA 15801. Social distancing requirements will be in place. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 9am from Life Community Church with Pastor James Goodman officiating. Dale Kirkwood Groves, Age 87 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on May 19, 1933 in Monaca, PA he was the son of the late Robert F. & Margaret L. Kirkwood Groves, Sr. On January 18, 1958, he married his wife of 45 years, Patricia L. Mack Groves. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2003. Dale was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the Korean War. He was the Owner/ Operator of Quality Paint Contractors for many years. Dale was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuBois and a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. He was a member of Gideons International and enjoyed playing tennis, fishing, hunting, and participating in the Senior Olympics with his friend and former coach, Joe Federici. Dale, along with Tom Frank and Harold Hershberger, started the Saturday Morning Baseball League and he was an integral person in the formation of the DuBois Church Softball League. Dale is survived by 5 children (Valerie Groves of DuBois, PA and her daughter Voni Black and her husband Mike; Vicki Ritchie & her husband George of Ravenna, OH and her children Cory Sholes and his wife Kristen, Kacy Knouse and her husband Brandon, & Cody Welsch and his wife Amanda; Voni Netta & her husband Ray of Bear, DE and her children Nick Netta and his wife Bethany & Emily Clarke and her husband Pat; Dale M. Glenn Robert Hicks, age 90 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his home. Born on October 15, 1930 in Beechwoods, PA, he was the son of the late Guy W. and Charlotte (Corbett) Hicks. On October 15, 1954, he married his wife of 66 years, Patricia A. “Patty” Smith Hicks. She survives. Glenn was the owner/operator of Hicks Dairy Farm for many years. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, the Pennsylvania Farm Association, and had been a member of the Brady Grange. Above all, Glenn & Patty loved their time with their family, especially their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Glenn was looked up to and admired by his entire family and was a role model for each of them to follow. Glenn is survived by his children; (Barry Hicks & his wife Janet, Kimberly Bash & her husband Dave, Wanda Shaffer & her husband Dale and Gail Fairman & her husband Scott all of DuBois, PA), 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; (Jim, Walter & George Hicks) and 3 sisters; (Phyllis Conley, Gladys Ent and Hazel Fritz). Linda McFarland, age 69 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on March 21, 1951 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nick and Miriam (Wyant) Alvetro. On August 16, 1970, she married her husband of 50 years, Fred P. McFarland. He survives. Linda was a homemaker and had previously worked at Rola Jensen. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Sykesville FOE 4454. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed cooking. Above all, she loved to spend time with her children and all of her grandchildren. Linda is survived by her children; (Denise Mazza of DuBois, PA and Leslie McFarland & her companion Rick Kiehl of DuBois, PA), 6 grandchildren; (Nicholina Condran, Joey & Tony Mazza and Janel, Jordan & Johnna Wilson), 5 great grandchildren;(Liliana, Jace, Brooks, Ada & Masie) and half brother (Richard Alvetro of Clearfield, PA).
