  1. Brenda Kohler Robertson, age 63 of DuBois, PA, formerly of Williamsburg, VA, died Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Christ The King Manor. Born on August 22, 1956, in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Flores "Clay" and Donna (Raybuck) Kohler. She was a volunteer at Christ The King Manor and St. Michaels Terrace, was a member of the DuBois VFW, DuBois American Legion and the Pulaski Club and was active with many cancer groups. She retired as a Sales Manager from Toyota in Newport News, VA in 2012. Brenda is survived by 1 son (Michael Nestlerode & his wife Heather of Homer City, PA) , 2 daughters; (Megan Schaberl of Williamsburg, VA and Marissa DeClouette & her husband Nick of Lafayette, LA), 4 grandchildren; (Tyler, Gregory, Kristina and Alex), 3 sisters; (Molly Wilson of DuBois, PA, Cindy Neidrick & her husband Bill of DuBois, PA of, DuBois, PA and Lori Seethaler & her husband Ray of Phoenix, AZ) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son. There will be no public visitation.   2. Damon S. Walsh, age 32 of DuBois, PA died Monday, January 6, 2020 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on May 7, 1987 in Gulfport, MS, he was the son of Mark Walsh of DuBois, PA and Michelle (Miley) Walsh of Biloxi, MS. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Damon is survived by 3 daughters; (Sajak Walsh, Indica Snyder & Emma Lou Nearwood), 4 brothers; (William Walsh, Shane Claus, Michael Marnati and Nicholas Ferari) and 1 sister: (Summer Ashley Wagner).   3. Margaret C."Marge" Carlson, age 93 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on April 1, 1926, in New Kensington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Stefura) Duffalo. On August 23, 1947 she married Russell R. Carlson. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2000. She retired from the DuBois Regional Medical Center in the housekeeping department after many years of service. Marge was member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois. She enjoyed getting up every morning and spending time with her prayer book. She also enjoyed watching mass on television and then watching her game shows and soap operas the rest of the day. Most of all she loved being with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's many activities. She is survived by her children; (Shirley L. Miller and Russ M. Carlson & his wife Christine both of DuBois, PA), 1 brother (James Duffalo of Texas), 3 grandchildren; (Michael and Lauren Carlson and Becky Paulinellie) and 3 great grandchildren; (Bryson, Braden and Emma Paulinellie). Marge was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 2 - 4 PM and 6 -8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   4. James "Jim" Edward Tressler Jr., 59, of DuBois, Pennsylvania passed away at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. James was born February 14, 1960 in Greensburg, Pa. The son of the late James and Marilyn Tressler. He loved watching football, being outdoors, hunting, and fishing with his grandchildren. He was known for helping others and lighting up any room with his vivacious personality. He worked as a supervisor at Eagle Railcar Services, formerly Rescar, for over 35 years. Staff knew James as 'Captain'; a mentor, but more so a friend, willing to give the shirt off his back if necessary. He spent his free time fixing things, mowing the grass, or spending time with his family. James served in the United States Navy as a Boatswain Mate on the USS Kalamazoo. He was awarded a Navy Expeditionary Medal on October 13, 1980. James is survived by his wife, Suzanne of 34 years, three daughters, Melanie (Joseph) McCabe of Camas, Wash., Heather (Stephen) Cherry of Pittsburgh, Pa., Miranda Tressler of Pittsburgh, Pa., two brothers Dr. Aaron (Gabrielle) Tressler of New Alexandria, Pa., Ryan (Salise) Tressler of Greensburg, Pa., four grandchildren, six nieces, four nephews, and extended family. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his stepfather, Donald Campfield, sister, Susan Mayer, and grandson, Grady Cherry. James was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   5. Donald Gary Kendall, age 64 of Treasure Lake died Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at his home. Born on November 16, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lowell & Mildred (Christen) Kendall. On March 2, 2004, he married Patricia (Schaffer) Kendall. She survives. Donald was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved football and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Above all, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Donald is survived by his step children (Ashleigh Carlson of Brockway, PA and Clark Bowser of DuBois, PA), his twin brother (CJ Kendall of Cleveland, OH) and 2 grandchildren (Addison & Megan Carlson).   6. Pauline B. Foltz, age 74 of Reynoldsville, PA died Monday, December 30, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on November 2, 1945 in Sagamore, PA, she was the daughter of the late Irvine & Marjorie (Swanson) Leksell. On April 8, 1967, she married her husband of 52 years, Earl R. Foltz. He survives. Pauline was a member of the Auxiliary of the McMullen Snyder Post 392 American Legion in Reynoldsville and was a member of the Reynoldsville Eagles Aerie 540. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and going to the casino. She was also an avid reader. Pauline is survived by a daughter (Donna Fye & her husband Patrick of Reynoldsville, PA), a son (James Foltz of Reynoldsville, PA), 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.   7. Mary Anne Betton Winkelman, age 74 of DuBois, PA, died Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Christ The King Manor. Born on August 7, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (Dougherty) Challingsworth. She was married to Howard "Pete" Winkelman. He preceded her in death. Mary Anne was an avid animal lover, especially her own horses, dogs and cats. She retired from Owens Brockway Glass as a packer after 32 years of service. Mary Anne is survived by 2 sons; (Donald Betton and his wife Jill and Paul T. "P.T." Betton and his longtime companion Marcy Scott, all of DuBois, PA), 2 sisters; (Christine Challingsworth and her husband Hugh Johnson of Silver Springs, MD and Cathy Garcia of Glen Hope, PA), 4 brothers; (Jim Challingsworth and his wife Roxanne of St. Marys, PA, Joe Challingsworth of Ridgway, PA, John Challingsworth of Pittsburgh, PA and Brad Challingsworth and his wife Natalie of Milton, FL) and 2 grandchildren;( Brett & Megan Betton).   8. Kristina N. Nelson, age 58 of Reynoldsville, PA died Friday, December 27, 2019 at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor. Born on April 29, 1961, in Brookville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Sally P. (Hubbs) Nelson. She was engaged to be married to Jeffrey W. Hetrick. He survives. Kris worked at Riverside / Bi-Lo for 23 years. She had also worked at Kmart in DuBois until its closing. She loved to crochet, loved to watch Hallmark movies and most of all, she loved her family. Kris is survived by her daughter Betsy C. Clouser and her husband Adam of Reynoldsville, PA, one brother David H. Nelson and his wife Karen of DuBois, PA, two grandchildren Barak & Logan Clouser, and three nephews, Seth & wife Justina, Ethan & wife Alli and Matthew Nelson. Friends will be received Monday, December 30, 2019 from 10 AM - 11 AM at Gateway Church of Christ in DuBois.   9. Loretta M (Bundy, Guthrie) Granger went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 25, 2019. Her life began on a little farm in Sabula, PA on June 20, 1927. Her journey was to span over 92 years. Along this journey Loretta's life had a profound impact on the lives of many people. From the very youngest to the oldest all felt the loving touch of a gentle and caring heart. Loretta was the third of eight children born to Merritt and Susie (Spicher) Bundy. The Christian values of love of God and family, hard work and serving others were deeply instilled and lasted a lifetime. Her educational journey was to begin in a one room schoolhouse on Boone Mountain and culminated with her earning an LPN certificate at the age of 53. Loretta was married to the late Howard Guthrie for 35 years. They had two children. Susan (Guthrie) Butler and Norman Guthrie. She was then married to Charles Granger who preceded her in death. Over the years she was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in DuBois, PA during WWII, WT Grant's and Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. Along with Loretta's love of family was her love for her Lord Jesus Christ. She loved to tell of her life changing experience of knowing Jesus personally. She participated in the founding of Tri-County Church and in the beginning, it met in her living room. For the past number of years, she was an active member of Treasure Lake Church. She was known by many as a 'prayer warrior' and was an active participant in numerous Bible studies. She started each day with reading her Bible and praying. Her life journey ended at the DuBois Nursing Home after a 14-month residency. The staff there provided kind and loving care. This was not the end however, of Loretta Granger's journey. This was only the beginning! Today she is in the very presence of her Lord and there she will be for eternity. There is nothing that would please her more than one day to meet her loved ones in Heaven. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Merritt and Susie Bundy, brothers Cecil, Lewis, Wesley (Marc) and sisters Mabel Carlson, Mary Jane Showers and brother-in-law Elwood Carlson. Loretta is survived by her two children Susan (Guthrie) Butler (Tom) of Urbana, OH, Norman Guthrie (Kathy) of DuBois, brother Allen Bundy (Bernice) of DuBois, Jessie Patchell (Don) of Reynoldsville, sisters-in-law Patty Bundy of DuBois, Barb Kuhn of Binghamton, NY and Debbie Bundy of North Port, FL, and brother-in-law Louie Showers of Goshen, IN. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jenny (Butler) Wheeler (Chad) of London, OH, Mandy Butler of Newark, OH, Sean Guthrie of Collierville, TN and four great grandchildren, Cody and Dallas Wheeler and Mollie and Olivia Guthrie. There are multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and a vast number of friends who cherish her memory. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 29,2019 from 3-5 PM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 30,2019 at the Treasure Lake Church, DuBois.   10. Donna J. Butters, age 86 of Brockport, PA died Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Highlandview Health Care in Brockway, PA. Born on September 21, 1933 in Coal Hollow, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter & Eva Calhoun. On July 12, 1952, she married her husband of 67 years, Paul E. Butters. He survives. Donna was a homemaker & had worked at Brockway Glass. She was a member of the Lanes Mills United Methodist Church, the Falls Creek Eagles Auxiliary, and loved to travel, shop & make baby quilts. She is survived by her children; (Jeannette Bowser & her husband William of Reynoldsville, PA, Rodger Butters & his wife Robin of Brockway, PA, Daniel Butters & his wife Anita, Diana Morelli & her husband Paul and Richard Butters & his wife Lynne, all of Brockport, PA), 1 sister (Priscilla "Patty" Delp of DuBois, PA), 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her twin brother Donald, brother Ernie and 1 sister Frannie. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10:30 AM from Lanes Mills United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert Trask and Reverend Claire Lundberg co-officiating.   11. Lee R. Myers, age 79 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on May 31, 1940, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur R. and Helen M. (Steponick) Myers. On April 19, 1958 he married his wife of 61 years, Nancy Irene (Kessler) Myers. She survives. Lee retired from the Riverside Perishable Distribution Center as a produce inspector after many years of service. He began at age 16 as a packer and spent the rest of his career in the produce department of various Riverside stores in DuBois, St. Marys and Indiana. After retirement, he worked at the DuBois YMCA for over 10 years. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. He loved to do woodworking in his basement, enjoyed going to the YMCA, was an avid Penn State wrestling fan and enjoyed golfing. Lee is survived by 3 daughters; (Sherry Carney & her husband Kevin of Reynoldsville, PA, Doreen Harris & her husband John of Owasso, OK and Brenda Mortimer & her husband Bret of Reynoldsville, PA) 1 son (Brian Myers & his wife Melissa of Glendale, AZ) 2 sisters ( Marla Overdorf & her husband Edwin of DuBois, PA & Deborah Bleam of Allentown, PA) , 10 grandchildren; (Christa, Laura and Alyssa Carney, Jennifer Rhodes, Jordan and Jarrod Harris, Chelsea McNutt, Jamie Mortimer and Bryanna and Jackson Myers), 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers (Denny & Terry Myers).   12. Rodger L. Thomas, age 58 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on June 8, 1961 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Clyde & Audrey (Lyons) Thomas. On May 23, 1981 he married Patricia (Kaizer) Thomas. She survives. Rodger worked in the Heating, Cooling & Refrigeration Industry for the last 20 years. He was the manager of Makdad Industrial Supply Company and had previously worked for Keystone Refrigeration. He also had a 20-year career working for Coca Cola in DuBois, PA. Rodger loved motorcycles and the 1975 Pontiac Firebird. Above all, he loved being with his family. He is survived by his children; (Aaron Thomas & his wife Alicia of New Hampshire and Emily Gossett & her husband Anthony of Pennsylvania), 2 grandchildren; (Rachel & Ryan Thomas), (a brother Bert Thomas & his wife Robyn and a sister Christine Bush & her husband Bill, all of Pennsylvania).   13. Rodger Lee Muth, age 65 of Luthersburg, PA died Sunday, December 22, 2019 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Born on January 8, 1954, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Clyde and Dorothy (Beatty) Muth. He was married on August 18, 1973 to Sharon (Shaffer) Muth. She survives. Rodger worked at Fairman Drilling Company from 1974 until he became a self- employed tractor trailer driver in 1988. He was a volunteer fireman for Brady Township for many years. He enjoyed hunting, camping with friends, elk watching and spending time with family. He is survived by his children, Timothy (Lisa) Muth of Falls Creek, PA, Thomas (Ashli) Muth of Midland, TX and Mrs. Terry (Tammy) Bortz of Mingo Junction, OH. He is also survived by 4 brothers Earl, Ronald, Charles and Edward and 4 sisters Florence, Martha, Carol and Mary. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Imogene and Donna and brother Kenneth.   14. Lillian Frances Jansen, 95, died Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Christ The King Manor in DuBois, PA. Frances was born in Junction City, Kansas, on September 30, 1924, the daughter of Frank A. Walker and Lillian A. West Walker. She graduated from White City High School in 1942 and moved to Washington, DC, with her best friend in 1943 to work for the Coast Guard during WWII. Her soon-to-be husband, John J. Jansen, came home from the Pacific for Christmas and they were married in Fort Riley, Kansas, on January 5, 1946. He predeceased her in 1997. They had four children, all surviving. A daughter, Carol Mortland and husband Robert of Reynoldsville, PA, and three sons: Robert of College Park, MD, David and wife Laura of Madison, WI, and Eric and wife Hana of Millbrae, CA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Erika of Sacramento, CA, and Mark of Cupertino, CA. She was predeceased by her sister, Winifred Copedge. Frances was active in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts and was a school room mother while her children were growing up. Always a woman of faith, she was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Bartholomew Church in Bethesda, MD, and The Church of the Resurrection in Silver Spring, MD. She was also involved with the Christ Child Society in Georgetown, MD, and a lifetime member of Suburban Hospital Auxiliary in Bethesda, MD. The Washington, DC, suburbs were home for most of her adult life except for fifteen months when John's position with Northup-Page took them to Iran in the 1970s. She moved five years ago from Silver Spring, MD, to DuBois to be near her daughter. All services are private and will be held at the convenience of her family who will miss her and thought for sure she would live longer than her mother who died at 97.   15. Robert E. "Bob" Brunner, Age 83 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a battle with cancer. Born on April 20, 1936 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Harry R. & Jessie P. (Burkett) Brunner. On January 12, 1974, he married Donna L. (Dougherty) Brunner. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2008. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the Korean War. He retired from Homac Manufacturing Company in Ormond Beach, FL. Previous to that, he had worked at Jackson China Company in Falls Creek. Bob was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, loved reading detective novels and was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams and Penn State and enjoyed jazz from the 30's & 40's. He was a member of the American Legion Post 400 in Orlando, Florida and the Independent, Political, & Social Club, and the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW in DuBois, PA. He was also a member of the former DuBois Moose Club and the Lithuanian Independence Club. He is survived by his daughter (Mary "Shannon" Bonante of DuBois, PA), 3 stepsons; (James Palmer of Daytona Beach, FL, and David and Kevin Palmer both of DuBois, PA), 1 sister (Olive Graham of DuBois, PA) and 1 brother ( Harry Brunner of State College, PA) 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Edward Brunner, an infant sister Virginia Lee and nephew Gary Graham.   16. Rudolph "Rudy" Marusiak, age 89 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on March 6, 1930 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Catherine (Kanarek) Marusiak. On May 12, 1962, he married Loretta M. (Riccadonna) Marusiak. She survives. He was a graduate of DuBois High School Class of 1948. He was a veteran of The United States Navy having served in the Korean War. Rudy retired from Ward Trucking after 40 years of service. He enjoyed all sports especially hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing in his younger years. He especially enjoyed going to his camp in Sterling Run during fishing season. Rudy was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. He was very active at St. Michael's Polish Festival. He was also a member of the Polish Citizen's Club. Rudy is survived by his daughters; (Cynthia Marusiak of DuBois, PA and Karen Schnaufer of Grand Island, FL), 2 grandsons; (Tad & Jacob Schnaufer of Florida), 2 sisters; (Helen Cheslock of Bedford, OH and Genevieve Murray of DuBois, PA) and 1 brother (Daniel Marusiak of Redfield, NY).   17. Genevieve “Genny” Henry Overheim, age 88 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Christ the King Manor. Born on March 21, 1931 in Dutch Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde & Grace (Cowie) Bowser. On August 27, 1952, she married Donald R. Henry. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1981. In 1994 she married William Overheim. He preceded her in death in 2010. Genevieve retired from the Intermediate Unit 6 in Shippenville as an administrative assistant after many years of service. She loved to play cards, especially bridge. Born on August 6, 1929 in Sykesville, PA, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen (Kosko) Zydiak. On June 26, 1954 he married Mildred M. (Baran) Zydiak. She survives. Emory was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War. He retired in 1991 from Carbon Graphite in St. Marys after 31 years of service in the shipping department. He was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville, PA.   19. Blanche J. Heist, age 70 of Falls Creek, PA died Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at her home. Born on June 12, 1949, in Corry, PA, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Betty (James) Phelps. On September 4, 1993 she married David Heist. He survives. Blanche retired from the housekeeping department at Penn Highlands Hospital. She had also worked in housekeeping at Christ The King Manor. Previous to that, she had worked 29 years at Brockway Pressed Metals. She enjoyed word puzzles and reading love inspired books. She had faith in our Lord and loved her friends.   20. William J. Satterlee, age 83 of DuBois, PA died Monday, December 9, 2019 at Christ The King Manor. Born on May 22, 1936 in Sandy Valley, PA, he was the son of the late Carl B. Satterlee, Sr. and Anna (Fox) Satterlee. On September 10, 1956 he married Kay (Kuhn) Satterlee. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2019. Bill retired from the Riverside Division of Penn Traffic Company after 42 years of service. He began his career in Reynoldsville and worked in store management in Reynoldsville, St. Marys, and Altoona. He served as Vice President of Special Projects in the DuBois Division. Bill was a first -degree black belt in Wado Ryu Karate and was active in the study of the American Civil War. Several of his short stories about farm life and the American Civil War were published. One of his most notable writings appeared in Chicken Soup for the Chocolate Lovers Soul. He was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois where he was a past religious education teacher and Eucharistic Minister. He was a current member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. Bill is survived by his children; (William T. Born on May 20, 1926 in Brookville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Marie (Aaron) Aiken. In 1947, she married John Harold "Jack" Ogorchock. he preceded her in death on March 17, 2012. Aloyse was a homemaker and assisted her husband Jack in the early days of DuBrook. She was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church and was a recipient of the Knight of St. Gregory Award from the Bishop of Erie. She loved to go to garage sales and flea markets. Her greatest joy however, was raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born on June 19, 1940, in Anthousa, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Eleni (Bouvious) Freskas. On February 17, 1963 she married Thomas V. Poulos. He survives. She was a self-employed seamstress and a homemaker. Pota was a member of both St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in DuBois, and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Altoona, PA. She enjoyed her many trips back to her homeland in Greece. She also enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and crafts. She is survived by 2 sons; (Vasilios "Bill" Poulos & his wife Evelyn of Newark, DE and Nicholas Poulos of DuBois, PA), 2 sisters; (Mimiaka Stasinopoulos & Eftchia Papadopoulos) and 3 brothers; (Kosta Freskas, Alkis Freskas & Andreas Freskas), all of Greece, and 3 grandchildren; (Blair, Morgan & Panagiota "Mary" Poulos).   25. Gary W. Cousins, age 75 of Reynoldsville, PA died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on August 7, 1944 in Meadville, PA, he was the son of the late Richard W. and Alice E. (Fiscus) Cousins. On June 12, 1971 he married Alice (Yoder) Cousins. She survives. He retired from Pace Precision Products as a journeyman tool & die maker after 40 years of service. Gary was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was very fond of his coonhounds. He enjoyed antique tractors and woodworking. He also crafted knives and made muzzle loader rifles. Above all, he loved his family. He is survived by 2 daughters (Erica Curtis & her husband Kevin of Baltimore, MD and Melissa Nasuti & her husband Craig of Jacksonville, FL), 2 sisters; (Marylee Fezell & her husband Don of DuBois, PA and Mimi Thompson & her husband Robert of Springboro, PA) and 3 grandchildren (Ellie, Owen & Ethan Nasuti).
