  1. Robert E. "Bob" Brunner, Age 83 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a battle with cancer. Born on April 20, 1936 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Harry R. & Jessie P. (Burkett) Brunner. On January 12, 1974, he married Donna L. (Dougherty) Brunner. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2008. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the Korean War. He retired from Homac Manufacturing Company in Ormond Beach, FL. Previous to that, he had worked at Jackson China Company in Falls Creek. Bob was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, loved reading detective novels and was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams and Penn State and enjoyed jazz from the 30's & 40's. He was a member of the American Legion Post 400 in Orlando, Florida and the Independent, Political, & Social Club, and the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW in DuBois, PA. He was also a member of the former DuBois Moose Club and the Lithuanian Independence Club. He is survived by his daughter (Mary "Shannon" Bonante of DuBois, PA), 3 stepsons; (James Palmer of Daytona Beach, FL, and David and Kevin Palmer both of DuBois, PA), 1 sister (Olive Graham of DuBois, PA) and 1 brother ( Harry Brunner of State College, PA) 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Edward Brunner, an infant sister Virginia Lee and nephew Gary Graham. As per Bob's wishes, there will be no public visitation and private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Burial will be in Dever Cemetery, Rossiter, PA.   2. Rudolph "Rudy" Marusiak, age 89 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on March 6, 1930 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Catherine (Kanarek) Marusiak. On May 12, 1962, he married Loretta M. (Riccadonna) Marusiak. She survives. He was a graduate of DuBois High School Class of 1948. He was a veteran of The United States Navy having served in the Korean War. Rudy retired from Ward Trucking after 40 years of service. He enjoyed all sports especially hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing in his younger years. He especially enjoyed going to his camp in Sterling Run during fishing season. Rudy was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. He was very active at St. Michael's Polish Festival. He was also a member of the Polish Citizen's Club. Rudy is survived by his daughters; (Cynthia Marusiak of DuBois, PA and Karen Schnaufer of Grand Island, FL), 2 grandsons; (Tad & Jacob Schnaufer of Florida), 2 sisters; (Helen Cheslock of Bedford, OH and Genevieve Murray of DuBois, PA) and 1 brother (Daniel Marusiak of Redfield, NY). He was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 2-5 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church. Burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery.   3. Genevieve “Genny” Henry Overheim, age 88 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Christ the King Manor. Born on March 21, 1931 in Dutch Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde & Grace (Cowie) Bowser. On August 27, 1952, she married Donald R. Henry. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1981. In 1994 she married William Overheim. He preceded her in death in 2010. Genevieve retired from the Intermediate Unit 6 in Shippenville as an administrative assistant after many years of service. She loved to play cards, especially bridge. Genevieve is survived by 4 children; (Linda Weis & her husband Thomas of DuBois, PA; Daniel Henry & his wife Paula of DuBois, PA; Brenda McGeary & her husband Stanford of Wilmington, NC; and Donna Henry & her husband James Hyman of Norwich, CT), 3 step children;( Lisa Craig & her husband Rudy of Butler, PA, Mitchell Overheim & his wife Linda of Foxburg, PA and Mark Overheim & his wife Fay of St. Petersburg, PA), 8 grandchildren; (Matthew & Luke Weis; Aaron Henry & his wife Katie; Adam Henry; Nikki Keffer & her husband Charly; Tessa McGeary; and Dylan & Phillip Hyman) 4 step grandchildren; (Emily, Trista and Kurt Overheim & his wife Kari and April Shaffer & her husband Peter) 2 great grandchildren; (Ava & Avery) and 2 step great grandchildren; (Amelia & Aiden).   4. Emory “Paul” Zydiak, age 90 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Christ The King Manor. Born on August 6, 1929 in Sykesville, PA, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen (Kosko) Zydiak. On June 26, 1954 he married Mildred M. (Baran) Zydiak. She survives. Emory was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War. He retired in 1991 from Carbon Graphite in St. Marys after 31 years of service in the shipping department. He was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville, PA. He is survived by one sister (Margaret Murdock of Punxsutawney, PA), one brother (Franklin Zydiak of Sykesville, PA, a brother in law (George Baran of Roseville, MI) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister (Dorothy Ghezzi). Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 1 – 4 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   5. Blanche J. Heist, age 70 of Falls Creek, PA died Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at her home. Born on June 12, 1949, in Corry, PA, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Betty (James) Phelps. On September 4, 1993 she married David Heist. He survives. Blanche retired from the housekeeping department at Penn Highlands Hospital. She had also worked in housekeeping at Christ The King Manor. Previous to that, she had worked 29 years at Brockway Pressed Metals. She enjoyed word puzzles and reading love inspired books. She had faith in our Lord and loved her friends. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by 1 brother (Denny Phelps of Erie, PA), a sister in law (Mary Adams of Erie, PA) and numerous nieces and great nephews.   6. William J. Satterlee, age 83 of DuBois, PA died Monday, December 9, 2019 at Christ The King Manor. Born on May 22, 1936 in Sandy Valley, PA, he was the son of the late Carl B. Satterlee, Sr. and Anna (Fox) Satterlee. On September 10, 1956 he married Kay (Kuhn) Satterlee. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2019. Bill retired from the Riverside Division of Penn Traffic Company after 42 years of service. He began his career in Reynoldsville and worked in store management in Reynoldsville, St. Marys, and Altoona. He served as Vice President of Special Projects in the DuBois Division. Bill was a first -degree black belt in Wado Ryu Karate and was active in the study of the American Civil War. Several of his short stories about farm life and the American Civil War were published. One of his most notable writings appeared in Chicken Soup for the Chocolate Lovers Soul. He was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois where he was a past religious education teacher and Eucharistic Minister. He was a current member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. Bill is survived by his children; (William T. Satterlee & his wife Colleen of Milwaukee, WI, Deborah Kay Kibler & her husband David of Patton, PA, Deacon Daniel F. Satterlee & his wife Janet of Reynoldsville, PA, Christian P. Satterlee of Sykesville, PA, Brian P. Satterlee & his wife Erin of Greeley, CO and Michelle L. Gerg & her husband Dan of Brockway, PA), 1 sister (Mary Adcock of Aliquippa, PA) 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son (Michael C.   7. Ruth M. Mauthe, age 88 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Highland View Health Care & Rehabilitation in Brockway, PA. Born on April 11, 1931 in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy & Leila (Work)Spon. She was married to Robert Mauthe. He preceded her in death in March of 1989. Ruth worked at Bailey's Drive-In for 38 years. She enjoyed bowling Ruth is survived by 2 sons (James Mauthe & his wife Debi of DuBois, PA and Robert Mauthe & his wife Tammy of DuBois, PA), 1 sister (Mary Fleming of Indiana, PA), 4 grandchildren;( Bethany Bainey & her husband BJ and Cassie, Ashley & Bobbie Mauthe) and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by1 granddaughter (Jessica Mauthe) and 2 brothers (Richard & Robert Spon). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 3 -5 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   8. Jennifer Koloskee, Age 62 of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, December 7, 2019 after an extended illness. Born on July 26, 1957 in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Mabel (Isenberg) Koloskee. Jennifer was a homemaker and always enjoyed living in DuBois. She enjoyed her friends and loved animals, especially her 2 cats, Emmy and Junior. She is survived by 2 brothers (Ron Koloskee of DuBois, PA and Dave Koloskee & his wife Thelma of Columbiana, OH). She was preceded in death by her fiancé Fred. There will be no public visitation and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.   9. Aloyse Ogorchock, age 93 of Windcrest Lane, Reynoldsville, PA (Beechwoods Area) died Saturday, December 7, 2019 at her home. Born on May 20, 1926 in Brookville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Marie (Aaron) Aiken. In 1947, she married John Harold "Jack" Ogorchock. he preceded her in death on March 17, 2012. Aloyse was a homemaker and assisted her husband Jack in the early days of DuBrook. She was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church and was a recipient of the Knight of St. Gregory Award from the Bishop of Erie. She loved to go to garage sales and flea markets. Her greatest joy however, was raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Aloyse is survived 3 sons (Paul Ogorchock and his wife Gayle of Virginia Beach, VA; Mike Ogorchock & his wife Linda of Montgomery, TX; & Tom Ogorchock and his wife Connie of Haymarket, VA) 2 daughters (Peggy Mowrey and her husband Bob of Pittsboro, NC, & Rosemary Barber and her husband Joe of Beechwoods, PA), a sister (Marjorie Anne "Mimi" Shannon of Forest, VA) 8 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren.   10. Panagiota "Pota" Poulos, age 79 of DuBois, PA died Friday, December 6, 2019 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on June 19, 1940, in Anthousa, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Eleni (Bouvious) Freskas. On February 17, 1963 she married Thomas V. Poulos. He survives. She was a self-employed seamstress and a homemaker. Pota was a member of both St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in DuBois, and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Altoona, PA. She enjoyed her many trips back to her homeland in Greece. She also enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and crafts. She is survived by 2 sons; (Vasilios "Bill" Poulos & his wife Evelyn of Newark, DE and Nicholas Poulos of DuBois, PA), 2 sisters; (Mimiaka Stasinopoulos & Eftchia Papadopoulos) and 3 brothers; (Kosta Freskas, Alkis Freskas & Andreas Freskas), all of Greece, and 3 grandchildren; (Blair, Morgan & Panagiota "Mary" Poulos).   11. Gary W. Cousins, age 75 of Reynoldsville, PA died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on August 7, 1944 in Meadville, PA, he was the son of the late Richard W. and Alice E. (Fiscus) Cousins. On June 12, 1971 he married Alice (Yoder) Cousins. She survives. He retired from Pace Precision Products as a journeyman tool & die maker after 40 years of service. Gary was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was very fond of his coonhounds. He enjoyed antique tractors and woodworking. He also crafted knives and made muzzle loader rifles. Above all, he loved his family. He is survived by 2 daughters (Erica Curtis & her husband Kevin of Baltimore, MD and Melissa Nasuti & her husband Craig of Jacksonville, FL), 2 sisters; (Marylee Fezell & her husband Don of DuBois, PA and Mimi Thompson & her husband Robert of Springboro, PA) and 3 grandchildren (Ellie, Owen & Ethan Nasuti).   12. Connie A. Spryszak, age 93 of DuBois, PA, formerly of Falls Creek, PA, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Christ The King Manor. Born on September 19, 1926, in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Marks. On February 9, 1946, she married John V. Spryszak. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2006. Connie retired from the Jackson China Company in Falls Creek, PA after many years of service. She was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church, the Polish Citizens Club and Falls Creek Eagles Aerie 965. She loved to go to the movies on Sunday afternoons and most of all, she loved her family. Connie is survived by her daughter in law Linda Spryszak of Falls Creek, PA, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by a son (John T. Spryszak), 2 sisters; (Olga Wildauer and Madelyn Jakubowski) and 1 brother (Alexander Marks).   13. Alverta McIntosh, Age 96 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Nelson's Golden Years. Born on June 30, 1923 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Elva Etta Van Horn Bedell. On August 29, 1940, she married her husband of 65 years., Robert J. McIntosh. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2005. Alverta was a homemaker and attended the Tri County Church. She was a volunteer for the American Heart Association and Breast Cancer Awareness. She, along with her husband enjoyed golfing, skiing, and snowmobiling and was also an accomplished artist and seamstress. Alverta is survived by her 2 daughters (Roberta J. Owen & her husband Fred of Mechanicsburg, PA and Tara L.McClure of DuBois, PA ) a brother (Bud Bedell of Florida) 5 grandchildren (Heather Martin, Bryan Owen, Kyle & Chad, and Katelyn McClure) and 8 great grandchildren (Abby, Alec, & Isabelle Martin, Caroline, Eli, & Kate Owen, and Liam & Ellie McClure). She was preceded in death by her son (Paul E. McIntosh), 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. There will be no public visitation. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. from the Tri County Church with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.   14. Margaret Alice "Peg" Stull, age 95, died on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 in Hollywood, SC. Born in Luthersburg, PA on June 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Hazel Wachob. She married John R. Stull of Chestnut Grove, PA in 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Peg was an avid golfer and set course records in Pennsylvania and Florida. She was a club champion many times and the Johnstown, PA city champion several times. Her other passion was baseball, and she watched every Tampa Bay Rays game from April to October. She is survived by her brother, Lester Wachob of Luthersburg, PA, two children: Jill & her husband John Crocker of Hollywood, SC and Jan & her husband Edward Obreza of Boulder, CO, 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers (Lynn, Frederick, James and Charles) and 2 sisters (Dolores and Annabelle), all of whom she dearly loved.   15. MaryJane Volosky, age 74, of Sabula, died on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at her residence. She was born on March 27, 1945, in Abington, MA a daughter of the late Louis and Mary Elizabeth (Donovan) Keenan. Mary Jane is survived by her husband Ferdinand "Fred" Volosky of Sabula. They were married on Nov. 15, 1969 in Abington, MA. She was a Licensed Practical Nursed and retired from the DuBois Area School District Nursing Department at the Juniata Elementary School. Previous to that she worked for DRMC Home Health and the maternity ward. MaryJane was a member of the Sabula United Methodist Church, and a life member the North Point Volunteer Fire Company She was extremely proud of both of her children and that her son, Michael, retired from the U.S. Airforce with 20 years of service. She is survived by her sons, Michael F. Volosky and Mark G. Volosky and his wife Brittany all of Sabula. Four grandchildren; Zachary J. Volosky, Jillian Grace, and Dominic and Owen Volosky. Three brothers survive; Neil Keenan and his wife Sue, Jack Keenan and Peter Keenan and his husband Mark, and many beloved nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, MaryJane was preceded in death by her brother Mark Keenan and a sister Maureen Kittleson.   16. Gordon E. Searer, age 98 of DuBois, PA went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on September 30, 1921 in Altoona, PA, he was the son of the late Emory A. and Rosetta A. (Campbell) Searer. On October 5, 1942 he married Violet (Gross) Searer. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2006. He worked as a wholesale sales representative for Pennsupreme Dairy of Harrisburg, PA. Gordon was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, studied the Bible and spent much time in prayer. He loved spending time with his family and loved cars and enjoyed working on them. Gordon is survived by his daughters: (Norma Gebhart & her husband Paul of Sunbury, PA and Connie Snyder & her husband Charles of DuBois, PA), 1 brother (Arthur Searer of NY), 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 4 great- great- grandchildren.   17. Marilyn I. Zimmerman, age 81 of Sykesville, PA died Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Nelson's Golden Years. Born on March 1, 1938, in Henderson Township, she was the daughter of the late Carl J. and Mary (Kennis) Zimmerman. On May 28, 1960, she married her husband of 59 years, James D. Zimmerman. He survives. Marilyn retired from the DuBois Regional Medical Center after 31 years of service as a registered nurse. She was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church where she served as Recording Secretary for 65 years. She very active and a founding member of the former Jefferson County Ambulance Association and the Sykesville Ambulance Association. Born on May 8, 1928, in Brockway, PA, he was the son of the late Plum E. and Annabelle (Pierce) Dunlap. On June 14, 1958 he married his wife of 61 years, Ruth A. McCartney Dunlap in Lynwood, CA. She survives. Willard was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17 and traveled throughout the world. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an Airframe & Engine Mechanic for Western/Delta Airlines at Los Angeles International Airport. Willard is survived by several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers; (Robert & Lester Dunlap) sisters; (Adeline DiPillo, Dorthalene Snedden and June Sturniolo).   19. Regina M. Stoyek, age 103, of Evergreen Street, DuBois, PA died on November 23, 2019 at Nelson’s Golden Years. Born in Clymer, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Susanna (Korman) Madison. She was married to Joseph L. Stoyek for 21 years and he preceded her in death in December of 1973. Regina was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary-Infant of Prague Society. She was a member of the former Home Camp and Hickory Granges. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, traveling, attending musical and theatrical stage productions and socializing with her friends over a good cup of coffee. She worked as a maid/cook, telephone operator, store clerk, secretary, seamstress and sewing teacher and volunteered at the local food bank. She visited numerous US states and foreign countries on three continents including The Holy Land and The Vatican. She is survived by three children: Perry (Jill) of DuBois, Terry (Patricia) of Prattville, AL, and Susan (Tim Dieringer) of Loudon, TN, a sister, Ethel Rohrer of Chambersburg, PA, two grandchildren, Ryan and Evan Stoyek, of DuBois and one step-granddaughter, Stacy (Michael) Lofton of Florence, MT. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, William, Gerald and Edward Madison. Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 1040: a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.   21. Rodney Dale Park, age 64 of Penfield, PA passed away on November 19, 2019 at home. Born on April 2, 1955 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Chester and Iva (Fulton) Park. Rod was married to Marcia Heberling Park. She preceded him in death on August 10, 1999. He worked as a Union laborer. He loved going to dirt track races, and helping and watching his nephews on the racecars. He is survived by a daughter, Cassandra (David) Shaposka, of Bossier City, LA; 3 grandsons, Aiden, Noah, and Lucas Shaposka; a brother LeRoy (Sheila) Park of Penfield, three sisters, Esther (Charles) Duttry of Penfield, Mary Ann (George) Kutskel of DuBois, and Carol (Steve) Czekai of Penfield. "Kay" (Harvey) Caliari. She was the owner and operator of Paws and Claws in Penfield for many years. She also owned and operated Cheryl K. Caliari Notary Public. Cheryl loved animals and was actively involved with animal rescue. She also loved to farm and go to the casino. Born on May 19, 1944 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Darl and Leona (Fairman) Ferguson, Sr. On April 3, 1969 she married James I. Anderson. He survives. Roseann was a bank teller at S&T Bank for over 25 years until her retirement and along with her husband was the owner/operator of Whispering Pines Kennels. After retirement, she worked at the service desk at Giant Eagle She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She loved to sew, garden, cook, bake and enjoyed being the hostess of family picnics and parties. She also enjoyed collecting antiques and books.
