  1. Mrs. Genevieve C. (Skunda) Morris, age 98, of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 17, 2019 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Genevieve was the second of seven children and was the eldest daughter of Dominic and Stella (Reclite) Skunda. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Michael, Albert and Dominic Skunda, and her sister Estelle Rokoski. She is survived by her brother Joseph Skunda of DuBois,PA and sister Rosemary Brinton of Lewistown,PA. Until his passing in 2008, Genevieve was married for 28 years to John J. Morris of DuBois. She was a devoted parent and best friend to her only child Candace J. Sycalik who also preceded her in death in 2008. Genevieve was a genuine, loving person who spent her life trying her best to support those around her. She helped her parents raise her younger siblings and cared for her mother in her later days. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and served for a time as President of the St. Joseph's Ladies Auxiliary. Genevieve understood the value of education and believed strongly in being self-sufficient. She attended DuBois Business College and eventually retired after 23 years as a Senior Administrative Assistant at McDowell Manufacturing in DuBois. As a single parent Genevieve raised her daughter Candace to be confident, trustworthy, and hard-working - traits Candace passed to her own children. Genevieve is survived by her three grandsons: William S. Sycalik of Denver, CO, Gary S. Sycalik (Hillary) of Oxford, PA, and Christopher L. Sycalik (Marie) of Landenberg, PA, and her three great-grandchildren: Madison, Jared, and Michaela Sycalik. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00AM from the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.   2. Harry E. Hilliard, Age 88, of Falls Creek, PA died Monday, July 15, 2019 at his home. Born on January 26, 1931 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late David and Florence (Hinderlider) Hilliard. On September 22, 1956, he married Betty L. (Burkhouse) Hilliard. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2018. Harry was printing press operator for many years. He worked at Gray Printing for the majority of his career and then Commercial Job Printing until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering around the house and most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by a daughter (Karen Shaffer of Falls Creek, PA), grandsons;( Eric Hilliard and his wife Bridgette of DuBois, PA and Aaron Shaffer and his fiancé Andrea of Brockway, PA), great grandchildren; (Justin & Erica Hilliard, Riley & Katlynn Shaffer, Taylor Raybuck and Connor & Tatum Cubbon). In addition to his wife and parents, Harry was preceded in death by a great granddaughter (Tessa Hilliard), two sisters;( Anna May Schaffner and Delores Shindledecker) and one brother (James Hilliard). There will be a private visitation and service from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor David Nagele officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery in Hormtown.   3. John Terry Thomas, US Air Force veteran and resident of Laurel, Maryland died on July 6, 2019 in Gilchrist Hospice Center from lung failure due to flu and pneumonia complications. He was born in DuBois, PA in 1943 and was the son of the late John Thomas and the late Pauline Noker Thomas. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Patricia A. (Yonushonis) Thomas, his daughter Marla Solomon, her husband, Paul Solomon, and their children: Caleb (age 14), Cecelia (age 12), and Christopher (age 8) and by his daughter, Sherry Rice and her husband, Scott Rice. Terry retired as President/CEO of the Baltimore/Washington Credit Union Direct Lending Cooperative Inc. in 2005. He had over 30 years of direct and indirect lending experience. Terry worked to coordinate business development activities between credit unions and automotive dealers in the Metropolitan area. Terry's coursework in accounting and economics was completed at the University of Maryland. In his lifetime Terry enjoyed golfing, woodworking, traveling with his wife, attending annual horse-races with family and spending time with his grandchildren. His comic relief and steadfast love will be forever cherished by his family. There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in DuBois, PA with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   4. George E. Heatherdale, Age 72 of Reynoldsville, PA died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his home. Born on September 22, 1946 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late George and Martha (Platco) Heatherdale. On November 30, 2001, he married Linda R. (Royer) Heatherdale. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2018. George was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp having served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the maintenance department of Owens Brockway after 39 years of service. He was a 1964 graduate of Brockway High School where he played both football and baseball. He was a graduate of Devry Institute in Chicago studying electrical engineering. He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17 and was a life member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Allens Mills United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Most of all, he loved making memories with his family. George is survived by a daughter (Jody Lindemuth & her husband Michael of Brockway, PA) a son (George E. Heatherdale) 3 step sons (Robert "Mike" Coder of DuBois, PA, Brent P. Coder of DuBois, PA and Brian A. Coder & his wife Suzanne of Luthersburg, PA) 1 brother (Mark Heatherdale & his wife Patty of Brockway, PA), 1 grandaughter (Amanda Lindemuth) 8 step grandchildren & 2 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother (Gerard Heatherdale) and 2 sisters; (Martha Ruth Ann Heatherdale and Joyce Lee Mayew).   5. Donald L. Bishop, Sr., Age 87, of Falls Creek, PA died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his home. Born on September 19, 1931 in Toby, PA, he was the son of the late Cecil and Evelyn (Sinsabaugh) Bishop. On March 1, 1958 he married Patty R.(Fox) Bishop. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2007. Don was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War. He retired from Owens Brockway after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Lanes Mills United Methodist Church. He enjoyed baseball and in his earlier years he coached his sons in the DuBois Little League. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Don loved his family and friends and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He is survived by a daughter (Betty Shaffer and her husband Ron of Rockton, PA), two sons; (Jerry Bishop and his wife Linda of Falls Creek, PA and Donald Bishop Jr. and his wife Danita of Reynoldsville, PA), two sisters; (Frances Lazar & husband Frank Caracciolo of DuBois, PA and Marian Lundberg & husband Raymond of Ft. Lauderdale, FL) a brother (Ronald Bishop & his wife Helen of Falls Creek, PA), six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter (Daunna Carlson) and a grandson (Eric Carlson).   6. Judy C. Schmoke, age 65, of DuBois, PA died Monday, July 1, 2019 at her home. Born on January 1, 1954, in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (McKean) Schmoke. She graduated from Curwensville High School Class of 1972. Judy worked at Dutch Pantry in Clearfield, PA as head cook. She enjoyed cooking, helping people and just loved people in general. She is survived by three brothers; ( Ray Schmoke of Philipsburg, PA, Jim Schmoke of Curwensville, PA, Scott Schmoke & his wife Kimberlee of Deltona, FL), two sisters; (Norma Lewis of Curwensville, PA and Ruth Conway of Bellfonte, PA), and close friends Abraham & Nicole Estrada and their children whom she considered family.   7. Bernice J. Wells, Age 82 of Brookville, PA died Monday, July 1, 2019 at Brookside Assisted Living in Brookville, PA. Born on March 18, 1937 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Kessler) Kness. She was married to Cyrus Wells. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2007. She retired from the Brockway Glass Company after 35 years of service. Bernice enjoyed camping, traveling and bird watching. She was well known for her baked goods and loved to garden and can her harvest. She is survived by her children;(Donald and Dean Pisarchick both of Brockway, PA), grandchildren;(Tracey Miller & her husband Tanner, Darren Pisarchick & his wife Chelsey and Dan Pisarchick all of Brockway, PA), five great grandchildren;(Madison, Carmella, Anabella, Selina and Emilia). She was preceded in death by one son (Brian Pisarchick), five brothers;(William, James, Donald, Arthur & Dale Kness), three sisters;(Burdette Kness, Ida Mae Delp and Lois Daugherty).   8. Rose E. Rokoski, Age 85, of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on September 10, 1933 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony & Mary Rose (Kawa) Poskanka. On August 10, 1962 she married George A."King George" Rokoski. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2002. Rose retired from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church as the parish cook after many years of service. Previous to that, she was a homemaker and had worked at the Brockway Glass Company. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Infant of Prague Society and was very active in church affairs. Rose is survived by her children;( Nancy Chapman & her husband Richard of DuBois, PA, Mary Bond and her husband Thomas of Darlington, PA, Lynn Peterson & her husband Mark of Moon Township, PA and John Rokoski of DuBois, PA), two sisters;(Mary Michael of Fullcroft, PA and Angeline Cheslock of DuBois, PA) and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters;(Ann Cheslock, Helen Gillis, Martha Michael, Catherine Michael & Violet Phillips).   9. Russell P. Ross, Age 62 of Reynoldsville, PA died Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on November 23, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Franklin and Wilda Jane (Depp) Ross. He was a veteran of the United State Air Force. He was a truck driver in the coal industry. Russell is survived by a step daughter (Cassie Luzier and her husband Brandon of Virginia), a brother (Ray Ross & his wife Gail of Clearfield, PA), sister in law (Betty Ross of Reynoldsville, PA) and 3 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Richard Ross and Robert Ross. There will be no public visitation.   10. James A. Mack, Age 71 of East New Market, Maryland, formerly of DuBois, died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born on November 5, 1947 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late James M. and Jane E. (Trude) Mack. On April 6, 2019 he married Patricia (Yarwasky) Mack. She survives. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army having served in both the Vietnam and Gulf Wars. He retired as a Sergeant E5 from the 629thTransportation Unit after 23 years of service. Jim retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare after 38 years of service, where he served as the Executive Director of Mifflin County. He was a 50-year member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17 and spent many years involved with the DuBois Little League as a coach, umpire and a member of the Board of Directors. He is survived by two sons; (Dr. Steven Mack & his wife Leslie of Bridgeville, PA and David Mack & his wife Christy of Reading, PA), a sister (Cheryl Carlin & her husband Dr. Brian Carlin of Wexford, PA) and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 2PM - 4PM and 6PM - 8PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   11. Randy E. Lockitski, age 59, of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his home. Born on December 30, 1959 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Raymond L. Lockitski and Gail J. Good. They both survive and live in DuBois, PA. Randy made his home with Faith Miller. She survives. He retired from Riverside Warehouse, Grocery Division after over 25 years of service. Randy was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. He was a past member of the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department and volunteered for many years with the DuBois Little League in both baseball and girls' softball. He enjoyed playing many years of softball with the Industrial and Church League of DuBois. He was a member of the "Hilltoppers" polka band, a group started by Joe Godak that was made up of a group of kids from St. Michael the Archangel. He enjoyed turkey hunting especially spring gobbler, going to the family camp, "The Roost" in Marienville, and bow hunting. He is survived by his two children; (Jesse Lockitski & his wife Arden of DuBois, PA and Taylor Lockitski & her fiancé Brandon Palumbo of DuBois, PA) and one brother (Paul Lockitski of DuBois, PA) and his stepmother (Georgianna Lockitski). Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6PM - 8PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10AM from Christ the King Chapel with Father Matias Quimno as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.   12. Edward L. McCleary, age 69 of Rockton, PA, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Born on April 30, 1950 in Bradford, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph F. McCleary and Margaret P. (Kenneson) Stokes. On February 6, 1999 he married Patricia A. (Dobrosky) Colbey McCleary. She survives. Ed retired from Coca Cola in DuBois as Cold Drink Manager after 40 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and he loved the Pittsburg Pirates and the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed the Florida weather and going to casinos. Ed loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and following their many activities. He is survived by his children;(Bridgot Hernan & her husband Rob of Smethport, PA, Shawn McCleary & his wife Rustie of DuBois, PA, Sara Merrill & her husband Jacob of Shillington, PA and Brian Colbey & his wife Lindsay of DuBois, PA), his siblings;( Linda Abrams & her husband John of Gifford, PA, Gary McCleary of Gardendale, AL, and Mike McCleary of Limestone, NY) and 10 grandchildren;(Shelby, Alianne & Cabot Hernan; Trevor Schwiderske; Keagan & Owen McCleary; William Merill and Alex, Nicholas & Dylan Colbey). Ed was preceded in death by his wife Karen Clark McCleary, his parents and an infant brother. There will be a private family visitation. Ed enjoyed family, the outdoors and sports. With that in mind, the McCleary family would like to invite their friends and family to honor his life by participating in a picnic and softball game at the Rockton Park on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 6:00PM.   13. Carol Frederick Frye, Age 74 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, June, 9, 2019 at her home. Born on November 5, 1944, in Kittanning, PA, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Hesta C. (Leopold) Frederick, Sr. Carol was a homemaker and had previously worked at Loree Footwear and Standard Pennant both in Big Run, PA. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bingo, adult coloring class and watching her son in demolition derbies. Carol is survived by one son (Mark Frye & his wife Jamie of DuBois, PA), two daughters; (Sherri Singer of Lake Wales, FL and Kelli Clayton of DuBois, PA), four brothers;(George Frederick & wife Anna of DePew, NY, Robert Frederick of Brockport, NY, Richard Frederick & wife Diana of Florida, Thomas Frederick & wife Dixie of Suffolk, VA), two sisters;(Dianna Klaver of Caledonia, NY, and Margret Marriotti & husband Richard of Orlando, FL), four grandchildren; (Julie, Rebecca, Joseph & Makendra) and one great grandchild (Ember). She was preceded in death by a daughter Pamela and her husband Steve Beer, sister in law Sharon Frederick, brother in law Carl Klaver and companion John Snedden, Jr. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 2 -4 PM and 6 - 8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   14. Ronald L. Siebert, Age 72, of Punxsutawney, PA died Friday, June 7, 2019 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on June 21, 1946, in San Francisco, CA, he was the son of the late Glennon and Connie (Lewis) Siebert. He retired from The Department of Veteran's Affairs where he worked as a Computer Entry Specialist. Ronald was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a loving Dad who also loved the Lord, making music, classic cars and laughter and his favorite Bible verse: "They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not grow weary; they shall walk and not faint." He is survived by two daughters; (Grace Thorsen and Joy Waganheim), his sweetheart (Cathy Brocious), 5 grandchildren and two brothers;(Phil and Glenn Siebert).   15. Rheva C. Chapman, Age 91 of DuBois, PA died Friday, June 7, 2019 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born in July 31, 1927 in East Hickory, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Himes) LaShure She was married to George E. Chapman. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2003. Rheva was a homemaker. She attended the First United Methodist Church in DuBois and was a member of the Gideon International Auxiliary. She enjoyed making and selling country folk art and helping her daughter at Narrows Creek Bed and Breakfast and Country Store. Rheva is survived by her daughter (Linda Shaffer and her husband Henry of DuBois, PA), her son (Gary Chapman and his wife Sandy of Lavon, TX)5 grandchildren (Joshua, Isaac, & Solomon Shaffer; and Jeremy Chapman & Stacey Deamer), 9 great grandchildren, 1 niece, and 3 nephews.   16. Randy L. Muth, Age 56 of Punxsutawney, PA died Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on September 20, 1962 in DuBois, he was the son of the late Robert Muth and Florence (Lyons) Muth. His mother survives and lives in Sykesville. Randy has worked at GKN Sintered Metals for the past 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and playing softball. Randy is survived by one brother (Robert L.   17. Robert "Bob" N. Passmore, Age, 65 of Chestnut Grove Highway, Luthersburg, PA died peacefully Monday, June 3, 2019 at his home. Born on October, 28, 1953, in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of the late George and Hazel (Bloom) Passmore. On November 8, 1997 he married Judy (Kurten) Passmore. She survives. Bob was an accomplished mason in the area. He was also a dedicated individual who loved helping others and caring for his family. He was an avid hunter, fisher and gardener and loved nothing more than to be outdoors. When Bob wasn't outside, he was indoors rooting for his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers with his favorite dogs Izzy and Lucky. He is survived by five children; (Christine Skaggs, Ryan Passmore, Cathleen Fisher, Jessica MacCready and Stephanie Passmore); a brother (Urban Passmore); five grandchildren, and his mother and father in law (George and Juanita Kurten). Jim loved to ride his Harley and like to "tinker". He could fix anything. He also enjoyed working on race cars and the outdoors, especially hunting. Born on March 31,1951, in Brockport, PA, he was the son of the late Joeffrey and Josephine (Carlini) Delia. On April 16, 1977, he married Debra (Palmer) Zavatsky Delia. She survives. Tom retired from Owens Illinois in Brockway after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the DuBois Auxiliary Police for over 20 years. He also provided security at many activities for the Dubois Area School District. Jerry retired from the Brockway Glass Company after over 30 years of service. Previous to that, she had worked for the DuBois Hospital and Cameron Manufacturing in Reynoldsville, PA. She enjoyed helping her family, cooking and bowling. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. He was the owner and operator of Gateway Enterprises for 36 years and was involved in the daily operations of the family business Herb & Tom's. Tommy loved his family and auto racing. He was a well-known racing enthusiast owning and operating his own race team. He worked at many race tracks in the area alongside his family, sponsored many cars and mentored many drivers. Paul was a 1999 graduate of the C. G. Johnson Annex. He loved to walk at the DuBois Mall, Lowes, and Walmart. Paul enjoyed the outdoors and riding the family ATV. He was active in Arc of Jefferson and Clearfield Counties Recreation & Respite Club.   24. JoEarlene Harris, Age 93 of Reynoldsville, PA died Monday, April 22, 2019 at Nelson's Golden Years. Born on June 6, 1925 in Reynoldsville, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ethel (Pifer) Rayburg. In June of 1949 she married Henry Harris. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1999. JoEarlene worked for 20 years as a licensed practical nurse at the DuBois Hospital. She also worked for 6 years as a private duty nurse for the Hahne family. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Reynoldsville and the Reynoldsville Women's Club. She loved to go to the Reynoldsville Foundry.
