Phyllis A. Utzinger (age 93)
Phyllis A. Utzinger, age 93 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at her home. Born on April 6, 1931 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Mae (Smith) Leach. On July 14, 1951 she married William H. Utzinger. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2013. Phyllis had worked at United Cerebral Palsy then Goodwill Industries for many years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist in Sykesville, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and loved to go camping. Phyllis, along with the husband Bill, enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers of all shapes and sizes and have an extensive collection. She had also loved to roller skate, but above all, she most loved her time with her family. She is survived by a son (William R. Utzinger and his wife Rosie of Oil City, PA), 3 daughters (Judy M. Fields; Wanda J. Armagost and her husband Samuel; and Kathy A. Utzinger, all of DuBois, PA), eight grandchildren (Irene, Amanda, Marita, Venessa, Stacey, Crystal, Eric, and Heather), thirteen great grandchildren (Liam, Norah, Charlie, Bear, Atticus, Arcadia, Ansen, Cohen, Hudson, Korra, Rowan, Nola, and Kendall), a brother (Vernon Leach and his wife Doris), and two sisters (Sandra Hatten and her husband Norman, and Donna Ellenberger). She was preceded in death by her son in law (Ray Fields) and numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Jacob Penvose officiating. Burial will take place in Salem Cemetery. Ontario Provincial Police say 64 suspects are facing a combined 348 charges in connection with a series of child sexual exploitation investigations that spanned across the province. The arrests were announced at a news conference in Scarborough on Wednesday morning. Police said the multi-jurisdictional case, dubbed Project Aquatic, was launched in February 2024 and included 129 separate investigations from across the province involving online sexual abuse material. -

The draft busts resulted in three arrests and 14 women asking for help getting out of their situations.
