Administrators Pompeii Posted June 28, 2017 Administrators Share Posted June 28, 2017 Kenneth L. Thurston, age 65, of Crystal River, FL, passed away June 21, 2017 at his home. Ken was born on March 26, 1952 in Elmira, NY to Kenneth and Jeanette (Collins) Thurston. An avid sports fan (especially Texas A&M sports and NASCAR racing), Ken was a retired Vice President of a home improvement store. Ken was a very proud U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Ken is survived by his wife of 38 years, Velma Mae Thurston. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Yolanda Sheehan and her husband, Terry and Jason Thurston and his wife, Alexis and seven grandchildren (Kelly Ann, Sarah, Saleena, and James Sheehan and Tyler, McKayla and Gabriel Thurston).Private services were held on Wednesday as Ken was laid to rest with military honors at the Temple Cemetery in Hazen, PA.
