Administrators Pompeii Posted November 21, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 21, 2017 Robert W. “Bob” Smith, age 73, of Randall Court, DuBois, PA died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at his home. Born on May 30, 1944 in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph & Clarabelle (Ott) Smith. On August 16, 1969, he married Margaret F. (Shrubb) Smith. She survives. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. Bob retired as a truckdriver from Preston Trucking in Falls Creek, PA after 30 years of service. He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, and was an avid wood worker, and enjoyed fishing. He was a well known “heckler”, and enjoyed meeting with his coffee club of retired truck drivers every Tuesday at Valley Dairy. His is survived by 3 daughters (Lisa Vought & her husband Allen, and Laura Weimer & her husband David, both of Rockwood, PA; and Bobbie Shenkle of DuBois, PA), a brother (Joseph Smith & his wife Patty of DuBois, PA), 6 grandchildren (Branden, Katrena, Jess; Jenna, Luke, & Lauren) and 3 great grandchildren (Brailynn, Brooke, & Maddox). He was preceded in death by a brother (Ken McConnaughey) and a sister (Kathy Myers). Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1 P.M. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Lance Tucker officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Beechwoods Cemetery. Memorials may be placed with the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
