Joseph L Kruckow, Age 89, of Locust Street, DuBois, PA died on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA.

Born on December 10, 1928 in Elmira, NY he was the son of the late Albert and Agnes (Witucki) Kruckow.

As a teenager he worked for a florist delivering flowers. One of his deliveries led him to meet Ruth N. Richards. On September 18, 1950 they married and recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.

He retired as the superintendent of the DuBois Sewage Treatment Plant after 35 years of service. Previous to that he worked in sewage treatment in Elmira, NY.

He enjoyed visiting with his family, playing the lottery, watching football, and listening to the Polka Party every Sunday morning. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

Mr. Kruckow is survived by five children; Mary Butters and her husband Robert of Virginia Beach, VA, Joann Frederick and her husband William “Flip” and Connie Erdely both of DuBois, PA, Joseph Kruckow II and his wife Jo Ann of Hampton, VA and Nancy Lorance and her husband Jim of Copperas Cove, TX.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a niece Rita Kujawski of Elmira, NY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Trish Kruckow and a sister, Cecilia Kujawski.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A scriptural wake service will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 1:30 PM from the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorial may be placed with Christ the King Manor, 1100 West Long Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
