Orville R. Marshall, Age 92 of Helvetia Road in Luthersburg, PA, died Monday, January 08, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born on April 12, 1925 in Grampian, PA he was the son of the late Clair and Emma (Wingert) Marshall.

On January 22, 1948, He married Mary Lou Knarr Marshall.  She preceded him in death on September 19, 2012.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II on the U.S.S. Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier.

He retired from the Rural Mail Carriers Association after 29 years of service. Previous to that he worked for Liggett & Myers as a district manager. He was also the owner/operator of Marshall’s School Bus Service for 20 years.

He was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ where he served on the church consistory and cemetery board. He was a member of the Garfield Lodge #559 Free and Accepted Mason and the Jaffa Shrine. He was a Charter member of the Brady Township Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, farming and antique car restoration. He was proud of the fact he acquired his private pilot license.

He is survived by his children:  Sherry DeBoer & her husband, Bob of Luthersburg, PA, Greg Marshall & his wife, Peggy of Luthersburg, PA, Marilyn Liddle & her husband, Randy of DuBois, PA and Beth Ann Makufka & her husband, David of Mims, FL, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Bill Marshall of DuBois, PA and Keith Marshall of Luthersburg, PA, and a sister, Shirley Thurstin & her husband Jack of Curwensville, PA. 

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lynn, Marlin and Neil Marshall and 2 sisters, Gloria, Leddy and Donna Tyler.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 3-7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 1 PM from St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Luthersburg with Pastor Robert Newell officiating.

Burial will be in Luthersburg Union Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed with the St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 112, and/or Brady Township Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 157 both in Luthersburg, PA 15848.
