Administrators Pompeii Posted November 23, 2018 Administrators Share Posted November 23, 2018 Sherman L. Horn, Jr., Age 94, of DuBois died on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on October 31, 1924 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Sherman L. and Hannah Horn, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. On July 4, 1951 Sherman married Helen M. (Yount) Horn. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2016. Sherman retired from Stackpole Carbon in St. Mary's in quality control after many years of service. He was an active member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Punxsutawney Antique Automobile Club and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed restoring old cars and was an avid football fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sherman is survived by a son, Gary Horn & his wife Cindy of Vowinckel, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother (Robert Horn). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 11-1 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1 PM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Dr. Robert Kirby officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard form the funeral home. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
