Administrators Pompeii Posted August 11, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 11, 2021 John Peterson, age 89 of DuBois, PA died Monday, August 9, 2021 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. Born on June 28, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Fredrick Thomas and Estelle (Adamski) Peterson. On June 4, 1955 he married Bobette M. Shaw. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2012. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War. He had worked for 28 years as an over the road truck driver, having worked for Hermann Forwarding in New Brunswick, NJ for 19 of those years. John attended St. Michaels Church and had been a member of the Central New Jersey Teamster Retiree Club. He is survived by his children Jean Tirado (Jose) of Taylorsville, UT, Bobette Peterson of DuBois, PA, JoAnne Krall (Ken) of Pickens, SC, Judy Goodheart (Michael) of Somerset, NJ, John W. Peterson of West Monroe, LA and Laura D. Kilmer of DuBois, PA, 1 sister Caroline Peterson of DuBois, PA, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers; Fred, William and Carl Peterson and 5 sisters; Lillian Bryant, Alma Blacheck, Bertha Lackey, Phoebe Skura and Stella Trazska. A private family visitation and funeral service will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
