Thomas Carpin, Jr. ,age 92, of DuBois, died Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Christ The King Manor.

 

Born on June 3, 1929, in Weedville, PA, a son of the late Thomas and Dora (Malorgio) Carpin, Sr.

 

On October 24, 1953, he married Josephine F. (Makofka) Carpin, she preceded him in death on December 27, 2016.

 

Tom was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.   He was a 1947 graduate of the Weedville High School and later served during the Korean War in the US Army with the 2nd Infantry Division and was awarded a Bronze Star. 

 

He retired after 35 years with Carbon Graphite.  Tom enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cooking and spending time with his family.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler, Penguins and Pirates fan.

 

Tom is survived by three children: Darlene Lockett and her husband Tim of DuBois, Dennis Carpin and his wife Melinda of DuBois and Michele Kister and her husband Kurt of Sykesville.  Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Aileen Barbazzeni and a brother, David Carpin.     

 

There will be no public visitation.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

 

Full military honors will be accorded from the church by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

 

Interment will follow in St. Michael The Archangel Cemetery.
