Administrators Pompeii Posted October 17, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 17, 2021 Betty Louise Hunter, age 88 of Reynoldsville, PA died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Reynoldsville. Born on October 3, 1933 in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Earl Kenneth and Mattie Ann (Quarles) Collins. On January 3, 1954 she married Laurence Albert Hunter. He preceded her in death in September of 2010. Betty had worked for Bell Telephone in Washington, DC, and worked as a certified nursing assistant at the DuBois Nursing Home. She loved her grandchildren, gardening and her dogs. Betty is survived by her four children; (Cathy Ann Hunter Striegel, Michael Larry Hunter, Jeffrey Bruce Hunter and Lisa Dawn Hunter Leonard), four grandchildren; (Shawn J. Striegel, Steven D. Striegel, Holly L. Leonard Deason and Donny Leonard), six great grandchildren; (Cody Striegel, Kyle Striegel, Jessie Striegel Walk, Jacob Striegel, Rori Deason and Dakota Deason), four great-great grandchildren; (Nicholas Striegel, Tyler Striegel, Bailey Adams, Beau Walk and one baby due in November), one sister (Barbara Collins Remaley), one brother (Melvin Collins) and her beloved dog Otis. She was preceded in death by an infant son (Laurence Hunter), one brother (Earl “Pete” Collins) and one sister (Carol Shrewsbury). There will be no public visitation and a funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
