Timothy K. “Tim” Steffey, age 58 of Punxsutawney, PA, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born on September 8, 1963 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of Murray and Elin Steffey. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives and lives in Punxsutawney, PA.

On August 10, 2002, he married his best friend, Cindy (Males) Steffey. She survives.

Tim was a hard worker. He was co-owner and operator of two local businesses, Steffey Plumbing, Heating and Construction and “Unplugged”.

Tim was known in the area for his “smoked meats” that started as a hobby. His favorite hobbies included hunting with his sons, woodworking, camping and cooking.

He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, Penn State Football and wrestling, and Nascar. You could always find Tim and Cindy at a local dirt track on weekends. Above all, his favorite thing to do was being with his family and also attending sporting events for his grandchildren.

Tim is also survived by his sons (Joshua (Reney) Steffey of Mahaffey, PA and Kyle (Abby) Steffey of Punxsutawney, PA), his stepchildren (Molly (Manny) Barbazzeni of Treasure Lake, Kristen (Eric) Koncsol of Girard, OH, Mark “Buddy” Jones (Amanda) of Statesboro, GA and Megan  (Jason) Wos of Mahaffey, PA), grandchildren (Zachary, Savannah, Kylah, Emilyn, Ellie, Jhett, Kynslee, Kellar and Ethan), grandogs (Dime, Lemmy and Cash), brothers (Tom (Martha) Steffey of Punxsutawney, PA and Mark Steffey of Berwick, PA).

He was also preceded in death by 1 grandson (Kenyon Steffey).

Tim will be missed by many, especially his family. Just know that he was the strongest person with a kind heart, right until the end.

A private family service will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor James Fillhart officiating.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Lisa’s Ladybugs, PO Box 692, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
