Charles S. Hayes, age 91 of Luthersburg, PA died Sunday, March 20, 2022.

Born on July 23, 1930 in Luthersburg, PA, he was the son of the late John E. and Grace (Coldwell) Hayes.

On July 12, 1954 he married his loving wife of 67 years, Marylin Janette (Delp) Hayes. She survives.

In his earlier years, Charles was the owner and operator of Sunnyside Dairy in Luthersburg and later worked for Hallstrom Construction and was a well tender for Consolidated Natural Gas Company from where he retired after many years of service. Throughout, he continued to run his family farm raising beef cows. Charles took an early retirement to devote more time to his ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He wanted as many people as possible to know Bible truths.

Charles felt very privileged to travel domestically and internationally. Although he experienced travel from African safaris to touring the Holy Lands and many European cities, his all-time favorite place was sitting on the front porch of his farmhouse in Luthersburg with family. He loved being outdoors, from feeding the birds and watching the sunset, to driving his Farmall tractor.

Charles is survived by three children (Gary Hayes and his wife Mary of Luthersburg, PA, Jeff Hayes and his wife Ravenna of Atascadro, CA and Cindy Quici and her husband Jim of State College, PA), two grandchildren (Christina Hayes and Garrett Hayes and his wife Mandie) and three siblings (Richard Hayes, Jackie Crawford and Katie Campbell).

He was preceded in death by seven siblings (Frances Hartin, Willard “Bucky” Hayes, Jake Hayes, Mill Gould, Albert Hayes, John Hayes and Robert Hayes).

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 4 PM – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A service will be announced at a later date.

Interment will take place in Luthersburg Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
