Nancy L. Males, age 83, of DuBois, PA died Friday, March 25, 2022 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.


Born on June 19, 1938 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Hubert & Lillian (Burke) Shaffer.


On July 4, 1957 she married D. Richard “Dick” Males. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2014.


Nancy retired from the Brockway Glass Company Crenshaw Plant after many years of service.


She was a life member of the J.E. DuBois Hose Company # 3 Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed crocheting and cooking and canning.  Crafts and ceramics were an important part of Nancy’s life.  She also enjoyed taking many trips to the Pottery in Williamsburg, VA and trips to the beach.  She also loved to plant flowers and feed the birds.  Above all, Nancy enjoyed being with her entire family, especially her grandson Zachary who cared for her for the past 8 years.


Nancy is survived by 3 daughters (Cynthia Steffey of Punxsutawney, PA, Debra Fairman and her husband Mark of DuBois, PA & Brenda Allen and her husband Dale of Rockton, PA) 10 grandchildren (Molly, Kristen, Mark, Megan, Macie, Tonyia, Nichole, Lyndsay, Lacey, & Derek) 15 great grandchildren (Zachary, Savannah, Mallory, Madelyn, Jack, Kylah, Ayden, Ella, Kynslee, Emilyn, Kellar, Zoey, Ellie, Jhett, & Parker), 1 great-great granddaughter (Charlie), 1 sister (Sally Hamlin & her husband Joe of DuBois, PA), and 2 brothers (John Shaffer & his wife Marie of Rockton, PA, and Henry Shaffer & his wife Linda of DuBois, PA).


She was also preceded in death by a daughter (Marsha Males), a brother (Thomas Shaffer), and a son in law (Tim Steffey).


As per Nancy’s request, there will be no public visitation.


A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.


Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.


The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc is in charge of arrangements.
