Rebecca A. Shoemaker, age 81 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Christ The King Manor.

 

Born on February 13, 1941 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony C. and Ruth (Nolf) Muffie.

 

On December 26, 2005 she married Clancy H. Shoemaker. He survives.

 

She was  a 1962 graduate of the Indiana School of Nursing.

 

Becky worked as a registered nurse in the DuBois area for many years. She worked at the DuBois Hospital for 26 years, and then worked for Dr. Jeffrey Rice for 10 years. She was the Director of the Personal Care Unit at Christ The King Manor for 8 years.

 

She was a  member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Becky had been a member of the former “DuBois Nurses Club” and was a member of Christ The King Auxiliary.  She enjoyed traveling and was active in the Relay For Life with the “Missing Shoe” team. Becky was loved and will be remembered by all.

 

Along with her husband, Becky is survived by three step children (Whitney Anthony and her husband Steve of DuBois, PA, Charlene Gaus and her husband Frank of Bellefonte, PA and Amy Jo Mack and her husband Glenn of  Rossiter, PA), eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, a special niece Ruth “Bootsie” Reasinger of DuBois, PA as well as several other nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by two brothers (Earl and Edward Muffie), three sisters (Louise Coder, Edith Maloof and Lillian Tamburlin) and one step daughter (Janet Burkett).

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 10 AM from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

 

Burial will follow in Conway Cemetery.

 

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
