Administrators Pompeii Posted January 17, 2023 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2023 Joann Segerberg, age 89 of DuBois, PA died Monday, January 16, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on August 1, 1933 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Evelyn (Reitz) Sprankle. She was a 1951 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. On March 2, 1957 she married James J. Segerberg. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2002. Joann had worked alongside her husband as the bookkeeper at Jim’s Atlantic Service for over 30 years. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, a charter member of the J. E. DuBois Hose Company #3 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Brookville Chapter 320 Order of Eastern Star, a member of the DuBois Bowling Association and enjoyed collecting giraffes. Joann is survived by her children; Mark J. Segerberg and his wife Mary and Amanda Bohensky both of DuBois, PA, a granddaughter , Beth Ann Roy and her husband Tony of DuBois, PA, and twin great granddaughters, Taylor and Emma Roy. She was also preceded in death by one sister Lillian Raybuck and her son-in-law Martin Bohensky. Visitation will be held on Thursday , January 19, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the DuBois Ministerial Food Pantry, P.O. Box 157 and/or J.E. DuBois Hose Company #3, 301 First Street, both in DuBois, PA 15801.
