Schmidt Bartasavich Cousins, Age 76 of Freedom, PA, formerly of DuBois, PA, died Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at her home. Born on July 2, 1946 in Brookville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gerard A. & Catherine Mae (Schick) Schmidt. On May 5, 2006, she married Ralph Cousins. He survives. She was previously married to Donald Bartasavich. Pat was a 1964 graduate of DuBois Central Catholic High School. She is survived by her children; James Bartasavich & his wife Kim of both Durango, CO & Pittsburgh, PA, Francine Marofsky & her husband Michael of Cranberry Township, PA, and Daniel Bartasavich & his partner Duane Reed of Rehoboth Beach, DE, two grandchildren; Leah McCoy & her husband Corey of Cranberry Township, PA, and Nicholas Marofsky & his fiancé Jaime Gerst of Charlotte, NC, and a sister; Anita Tapper & her husband Donald of Florida. Pat was preceded in death by her siblings Cora Moore, Noreeta Clark, and James Case. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Reynoldsville, PA with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be placed with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
