Michael S. Brosnan, Sr., age 76, of DuBois, PA.  passed away on Saturday, August 19th, 2023.

 

“Mike” was born on August 14th, 1947 to Edward and Ann Marie Brosnan in Ossining, NY. 

 

He was a graduate of Nether Providence High School in Wallingford, PA. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Salem University. 

 

Mike met the love of his life, Candace Cozine at a wedding in 1969 and they were married a year later. Candace preceded him in death on March 17, 2020. This year would have been their 53rd wedding anniversary.   

 

Mike owned a metal finishing plant in Folcroft, PA.  After selling the business, he worked at the financial aid office at the University of Pennsylvania where he went on to become the director. Upon retirement, the two moved to Treasure Lake to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.  He was an avid fly fisherman and hunter which brought him to many remote places around the globe.  He also loved spending time with his dog Gertie and his family, especially his three grandchildren; Jack, Sean and Maggie.  He was a phenomenal storyteller with a creative and generous spirit.  

 

Michael is survived by his daughter and son-in law, Kelly and Craig Stringer of DuBois, PA, his brother George Brosnan of Myrtle Beach, SC, his brother Shawn Brosnan of Myrtle Beach,SC, his brother Patrick Brosnan of Media, PA, his brother Timothy Brosnan of Raleigh, NC, his sister Lori (Brosnan) Denninger of Fairport, NY and his three grandchildren; Jack, Sean and Maggie Stringer, along with many loving extended family members, nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law.  

 

He was preceded in death by his son Michael S. Brosnan Jr. in 2008.

 

There will be no public visitation and services will be held at the convenience of the family.

 

The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

 

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Wallingford Community Arts Center, 414 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford, PA 19086.
