Administrators Pompeii Posted September 1, 2023 Administrators Share Posted September 1, 2023 Lois A. Kness, age 101 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Christ The King Manor. Born on January 21, 1922 in Hazelhurst, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Burrows and Mae (Andres) Reinard. On January 21, 1940 she married James H. Kness. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1974. Lois was a homemaker. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in DuBois, PA. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking. She was also a life member of the Sabula /North Point Volunteer Fire Company and had been active in the Gateway Humane Society. Lois is survived by her children ( David Kness, Sr. and his wife Janice of DuBois, PA, Bob Kness and his wife Carol of Reynoldsville, PA and Janie Dobis and her husband Tom of DuBois, PA), a half-sister (Lois Milliron of Maine), seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son (Ralph James Kness and his wife Sandra), one great grandson (Sean Hetrick), and her step father, (Ernie Reinard). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 4 PM – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 12:30 PM from the funeral home with Pastor Mark Montgomery officiating. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Gateway Humane Society, PO Box 678, Falls Creek, PA 15840. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff on C Wing at Christ The King Manor. Your kindness and love for our mother and grandmother will never be forgotten.
