Administrators Pompeii Posted September 11, 2023 Administrators Share Posted September 11, 2023 Michael Collins Punchios, age 74 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 8, 1949 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Wilford and Betty (Sipe) Punchios. On August 25, 1984 he married Patricia “Patty” (Gray) Punchios. She survives. Mike was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a delivery person for Wise Chips for many years. Mike also worked at the VFW in DuBois for five years. He was a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars where he served as Post Commander and was active in the Honor Guard. Mike loved to play pool, a game he was very skilled at. Mike is survived by two children (Theresa Punchios and Sandra Punchios), three grandchildren (Devin, Paxton and Gage), three brothers (Wilford, Theodore and David Punchios), and three sisters (Sharon Martin and her husband Jack, Robin Borelli and her husband Michael and Diana Peterson and her husband Jon). Mike was preceded in death by two brothers (Dennis and Gregory Punchios) and one sister (Daryel Dickey). Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 4 PM – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A private service will follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center, 4100 Allequippa Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15240.
