Administrators Pompeii Posted October 22, 2023 Administrators Share Posted October 22, 2023 E. Lee DeWyer, Age 86 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on November 4, 1936 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late William B. & Gladys “Betty” (Graham) Gifford. On July 12, 1954 in Brookville, PA, she married her husband of 69 years, Kent R. DeWyer. He survives. Lee worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the DuBois Regional Medical Center for 27 years. She was a long-time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she had been a member and past director of the church choir as well as its organist. Lee enjoyed reading, sitting on her front porch, cooking for her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by 3 children (Debra Johnston, Corinne Shick, and J.R. DeWyer & his wife Beth, all of DuBois, PA), 5 grandchildren (Andy Johnston & his wife Sarah, Tim Shick and his wife Mandi, Katie Hughes and her husband Chris, Aaron DeWyer, and Natalie Jaggi and her husband Alex), 6 great grandchildren, (J.T. & Alex Hughes; Colby & Hope Shick, and Caroline & Andrew Johnston), and a brother-in-law, (John Phillips of DuBois, PA). She was preceded in death by her sister (Janice Phillips), and two brothers (William and James Gifford) and an infant daughter (Denise DeWyer). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
