Reiter, age 89 of Sykesville, PA died Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the home of her son in DuBois, PA. Born on January 13, 1934 in Winslow Township, she was the daughter of the late DeLaus and Grace (Cramer) Henley. She was raised by her aunt and uncle Edison and Bertha (Cramer) Pifer in Paradise, PA. In August of 1955 she married Donald R. Reiter. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2009. Ruth was a 1951 graduate of Sykesville High School. She retired from Ideal Products in Sykesville after over 20 years of service. Ruth was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville. She enjoyed reading, camping and her two grandsons and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children (Corleen Chesonis and her husband Lawrence of Avonmore, PA and Kurt E. Reiter and his wife Ellen of DuBois, PA), two grandsons (Jeremy & his wife Amber of Sykesville, PA and Joshua Reiter and his wife Kelly of Brookville, PA), five great grandchildren (Eliot, Adella, Josephine, Lee and Jay Reiter), and one sister (Alma Peasner of Rochester, PA). Ruth was preceded in death by four brothers (Allen, Robert, Mearl and Clair Henley) and two sisters (Myrtle Necci and Oral Shobest). There will be no public visitation and private services will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Kevin Orndorff officiating. Burial will take place in Lakelawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
