Administrators Pompeii Posted December 7, 2023 Administrators Share Posted December 7, 2023 James D. “JD” Lester, age 77 of Falls Creek, PA died Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on October 9, 1946 in Joplin, MO, he was the son of the late William and Doris (Kenny) Lester. JD was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. He had worked at Brockway Glass Company for 27 years. JD was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17 where he had served as Past Commander and the Falls Creek Eagles Aerie 965. He is survived by his children (Joseph Lester and Laraine Kearney and her husband William both of Falls Creek, PA), six grandchildren (Kendra Swanson, Kimberly Kearney, Kolten Kearney, Karly Bottenhorn, Kasidie Kearney and Ian Lester), five great grandchildren and one sister (Leslie). JD was preceded in death by one brother (Mike) and one sister (Carol). There will be no public visitation and a private family funeral service will be held. Memorials may be placed with American Legion Post 17, 315 Liberty Boulevard, DuBois, PA 15801. The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
