Administrators Pompeii Posted December 28, 2023 Administrators Share Posted December 28, 2023 (edited) Eugene E. Marrapode, age 79 of Falls Creek, PA died Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at his home. Born on December 18, 1944 in Kittaning, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Corrine (Carli) Marrapode. On August 15, 1965 he married Heidemarie (Tarnow) Marrapode. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2005. Gene was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Preston Trucking as a Dispatch Supervisor after 35 years of service. Gene was a life member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW where he had served as Past Commander, and was a member of the Honor Guard. He was also a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, a life member of the Falls Creek Eagles Aerie 965 and a life member of the NRA. He had enjoyed hunting and fishing. Gene is survived by his children; (Christine Pringle and her husband Dennis of Falls Creek, PA and Robert E. Marrapode and his wife Sherri of Simpsonville, SC), four grandchildren; (Chelsey Horn and her husband Cody, Austin Pringle and Cory and Cody Marrapode), three step grandchildren; (Ryan Davidson and his wife Kayla, Courtney Warren and her husband Drew and Drew Davidson), and one great grandson (Carter Horn). He was preceded in death by one son (Michael Marrapode), one brother (Joe Marrapode), and two sisters; (Letitia Reedy and Rose Marrapode). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from noon until 2:00 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. The DuBois Area Honor Guard will accord full military honors on Tuesday at 1:45 PM from the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held. Burial will take place in St. Catherine Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
