  1. Richard A. "Dick" Reasinger, Sr., age 82, Kiwanis Trail, DuBois, PA died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

    Born on August 24, 1935 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late William Reasinger, Sr. and Etha (Guiher) Reasinger.

    On June 21, 1958, he married Barbara A. (Glatt) Reasinger.  She preceded him in death on August 15, 2015.

    He was a member of the United States Army Reserves.

    Dick retired from Triangle Auto Springs after over 20 years of service.  Previous to that, he, along with his brothers owned & operated Modern Cleaners.

    He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, enjoyed hunting & fishing, and was a member of the Middle Ridge Sportsman Club.  

    Dick is survived by his sons, Richard A. Reasinger, Jr. of Rockton, PA, Jerry A. Reasinger of DuBois, PA and Mark A. Reasinger of Colorado Springs, CO.  He is also survived by 4 sisters (Marilyn Ross & her husband Michael of Brockport, Pa; Karen Shobert & her husband David of DuBois, PA; Marlene Fletcher of DuBois, Pa; and Diane Dandoy & her husband Larry of Kersey, PA)

    He was preceded in death by 2 brothers (Duane & William Reasinger, Jr.),a sister (Linda Shaffer)and an infant sister (Cheryl Reasinger)

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc

    A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 10 am. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

    Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

    Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.

  2. George H. Stahlnecker, Jr., age 88, of DuBois passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

    Born on February 21, 1929 in Sandy Township, PA he was the son of the late George H. Stahlnecker, Sr. and Lillian "Madge" (Davis) Stahlnecker.

    After graduating from Sandy High School in 1947, he married the girl of his dreams, Ellen (Dungey) Stalhnecker on June 3, 1951. They were married for 66 years.

    He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army.

    After returning from the service he joined his father in the family business, Stahlnecker's Greenhouse. He then, along with his son, Les, and friend ,Tom Yakulis, opened 101 Auto Repair.  He then retired from United Electric.

    Strong, intelligent and resourceful George always appreciated the simple things around him and was dedicated to his family. He could build almost anything and did just that through the years. The ones closest to him will remember those things and smile. He enjoyed his family, and spent many happy years visiting his camp in Potter County. He enjoyed fishing and building and flying model airplanes.

    In addition to his wife, Ellen, George is mourned by his children, daughters Sue and her husband Harry Rugh, Karen and her husband Robert Gerew and his dearly loved son Les Stahlnecker. Loving and patient he was always proud of his family and especially of his beloved granddaughter, Emily Gerew, who was the light of his life and could always make him smile. He is also survived by much loved sisters Betty Cessna and Helen Molnar.

    He is preceded in death by three sisters (Janey, Blanch and Madge) and one brother (John).

    The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of Penn Highlands Hospice. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last months were a heartwarming blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

    There will be no public visitation

    A memorial service will be held honoring George's life well lived at a future date. 

    Burial will be at Morningside Cemetery.

  4. Eugene X. Pappert, age 83, of Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA died on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital.

    Born on February 16, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of the late Peter and Rose Marie (Moss) Pappert.

    He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After his active duty, he served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 25 years obtaining the rank of Colonel.

    On November 9, 1963 he married Regina (Boyle) Pappert. She survives.

    He was the owner and President of DCS Inc.  He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.

    Eugene is survived by two daughters (Michele Lampenfield of Pittsburgh, PA and Pamela Wolcott of Lowman, NY); two brothers (Jerry W. Pappert of Peters Township, PA and Marshall L.Pappert of Las Vegas, NV) and three grandchildren (Richard J.; Jacob J; and Joshua P. Lampenfield).

    There will be no public visitation.

    A memorial mass will be celebrated at the convenience of the family.

    Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor's choice.

  5. Adaline A. Marsh, age 74, of South 8th Street, DuBois, PA died on Friday, October 06, 2017 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

    Born on July 25, 1943 in DuBois, PA she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Ada (Sickeri) Davis, Jr.

    She married Theodore Marsh. He preceded her in death in September 2005.

    She retired from the DuBois Nursing Home in the house keeping department after 17 years of service.

    She is a past member of the Beechtree Union Church and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

    Adaline is survived by two daughters (Barbara (Marsh) Fitzsimmons and her husband John of Marysville, PA and Jo Ann (Marsh) Senior and her husband Rodney of DuBois, PA); one brother (Bruce Davis); three grandchildren (Nicole Fitzsimmons, Samantha Adamczyk and her husband Gary, and Eric Senior). and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by two sisters (Maggie Jamison and Bobbie Becker).

    Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A funeral service will be will held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10 AM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Vic Baxter officiating.

    Burial will be in the Morningside Cemetery.

  6. Donald C. Reasinger, Age 74 of Beechtree Road, Falls Creek, PA died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

    Born on April 4, 1943 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Donald I. Reasinger & Jean Miller Reasinger Maxwell.

    On August 14, 1964, he married Barbara A. Kosinski Reasinger.  She survives.

    Don was a graduate of the DuBois Area High School Class of 1961.

    He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served as a sonar man on the USS Stribling during the Vietnam War.

    He retired from Rockwell International Manufacturing after 34 years of service.

    Don was a member of Tri County H. O. G. and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.  He was an avid World War II historian, loved music and he loved his cats Larry & Summer.

    He is survived by a son, Donald L. Reasinger and his wife Wanda Swauger Reasinger of Sabula, PA 

    There will be no public visitation

    A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

    Memorials may be placed the Gateway Human Society, 1211 Airport Road, Falls Creek, PA 15840.

  7. Irene M. Laukitis, age 90, of Orient Avenue, DuBois, PA died Wednesday, October 04, 2017 at her home.

    Born November 10, 1926 in Soldier, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Povalitis) Jenitis.

    On May 3, 1947 she married Ralph E. Laukitis. He survives. They were married for 70 years.

    She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. First and foremost, she loved being with her family, and she also enjoyed visiting Washington, D.C. and gardening.

    Irene is survived by four children (Karen Doane and her husband James of Lancaster, PA, Daniel Laukitis and his wife Cindy of Salem, PA, Kenneth Laukitis and Brenda of Westville, PA and Michael Laukitis and his wife Tammy of Ruckersville, VA); one brothers (Victor Jenitis of Florida); nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

    She is preceded in death by one daughter (Deborah Harris); three sisters (Jenny Sandy, Alice Volkosky and Mary Kearns); two brothers (Joseph and John Jenitis) and two infant siblings.

    There will be no public visitation

    A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

    Memorials may be placed with Penn Highlands Hospice, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.

  8. ValJean Weaver, age 77, of Juniata Street, DuBois, PA died on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois.

    Born July 7, 1940 in DuBois, PA she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jocelyn (LaBenne) Marshall.

    On August 23, 1958 she married Harry E. Weaver, who preceded her in death on July 2, 2003.

    She retired from the dietary department at the DuBois Hospital after 22 years of service.

    She enjoyed baking, cooking and most importantly, spending time with her family.

    ValJean is survived by five children ( Jeffrey Weaver of DuBois, PA; Peggy Schreiber and her husband Ricky of DuBois, PA; Tracy Huntington and her husband Randy of Reynoldsville, PA; Gordon Weaver and his wife Carrie of DuBois, PA and Edith Muir and her husband William of Treasure Lake, PA) one brother (Fred Marshall and his wife Fran of DuBois, PA); two sisters (Ceilann Laird of DuBois, PA and Myra Clark of Erie, PA) Eight grandchildren (Bridget, Randy Jr., Andrew, Lacy, Ashley, Derek, CJ and Aimee) and three great grandchildren (Morgan, Baylee and Rylee) and another soon expected great grandchild.

    She was preceded in death by one brother (William Marshall)

    Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11 AM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.

    Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.

    Mary E. Madere, Age 88 of South Ave., DuBois, PA died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

    Born on January 28, 1929 in DuBois, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Tessie (Davis) Aravich.

    On July 24, 1954, she married Henry Z. Madere, Jr. He survives.

    She was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War.

    Mary retired from the Brockway Glass Company after 18 years of service.

    She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and was a charter member of Women in the Military.

    She is survived by 2 daughters; Marianne Atkinson & her husband Richard, and Antionette Vanderpool & her husband Gary, both of DuBois, PA ; a son Mark Madere & his wife Doreen of Cleveland, OH; a brother Robert Aravich of DuBois, PA; a sister Helen Kester of Seaford, VA; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 step grandchild. 

    Mary was preceded in death by a sister (Marcella Paladino) and 4 brothers (Frank, Eugene, Joseph, & Vincent Aravich)

    Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

    Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

  10. Norma E. Makofka , age 95, West Long Avenue, DuBois, PA died on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Christ the King Manor.

    Born August 9, 1922 in Echo, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Lavena (Prichard) Cain.

    On January 16, 1942, she married Walter E. Makofka who preceded her in death in 2005.

    She retired after many years in the cafeteria at the Oklahoma Elementary School and the former South Avenue School.

    She was a member of the Adrian Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary.

    She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and gardening.

    She is survived by three children (Eileen M. Stoneberg of DuBois, PA, Paul E. Makofka and his wife Donna of Laurel, IN and Carol Lynn Murray of DuBois, PA); a sister (Helen Dixon of Zanesville, OH); eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

    She is preceded in death by four brothers (George, Fred, Grant and Lester Cain); one sister (Mary Cain) and an infant son (Walter Makofka).

    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11 AM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.

    Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery.

  11. David F. Duttry, age 77, formerly of Hungry Hollow Road, DuBois, PA died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Nelson's Golden Years.

    Born on March 1, 1940 in DuBois, PA he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Edith (Turner) Duttry.

    On November 9, 1959, he married Nancy A. (Noker) Duttry who preceded him in death in 2012.

    David worked as a mechanic for a Ford Tractor Dealer in Lorain, OH for 12 years.

    He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and gardening. 

    He is survived by five children (Gladine Cooper (Merritt) of DuBois, PA; Elizabeth Palmer (Richard) of Lorain, OH; Suzanne Tressler (James) of DuBois, PA; Ruby Irizarry (Alberto) of Lorain, OH and Irene Demich (Raymond) of Lorain, OH); one sister (Edith Fridley of DuBois); ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by three brothers (George, Ted and Vernon Duttry) and one sister (Mary Wingert).

    Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 9-11 AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
