  1. The left is seriously deranged. They will be the downfall to civilization if something is not done about it.
  2. The same as the votes he got I am assuming. Surprise Surprise
  3. The only thing I did not like that he said in the past was he wanted the government to publicly report identities of everyone who got Coronavirus. That kinda flies in the face of his Peoples personal freedom he spouts. I mean I may support him in November but like all candidates no one is perfect. They all say something that is absurd but this was a little over the top.
  4. The lazy bastards cannot walk 30 steps into the building. My guess is there was a lot of fraud in that county before. They want to make sure the proper people are dropping off those ballots and not some Democrat let wing crazy just dropping off names they filled out themselves.
  5. I am sure it would. As long as you can keep at least 4 inches or more on top of the potatoes. Spread the potatoes out about 8 inches apart also to get a better and bigger yield. I know wayland farm supply has seed potatoes in stock as I got some from there this year. I should have had mine planted already they should all be planted by this weekend. I may go out and plant some today. You do not have to cut them if you do not want to. If you do cut them to split up the eyes let them sit for a few days to let the open area heal over. If not they will just rot in the ground. I am doing both whole potatoes and cutting them in half to see what yields I get.
  6. Here is something I am going to do this year as I bought to many seed potatoes. Just lay them on the ground and cover them up with compost, soil or even hay or straw or a combination. This would probably work best with determinate potatoes like Yukon gold where the potatoes only grow on the bottom and not up along the plant like indeterminate ones do. So you would not have to heal the plants meaning to keep adding soil as the plant grows. I am also planting in buckets this year. You could try this also as long as you obtain food grade buckets. I have a couple of raised beds where I planted last year and got a nice crop nothing spectacular but nice.
  7. Do not use chicken manure on potatoes if you plant them. I have used horse manure in the past and have not had problems I may try and find someone with to much of that also. I do not believe the 4h kids are raising anything this year because of the cost of feed. I read an article somewhere about that but was not sure if that was in our area.
  8. Cow manure is quite possibly the best fertilizer one can get for their garden but it can also be the worst. Herbicides like Grazon are no joke, and they can be in your hay and manure. If a field was sprayed with this herbicide and then hay was made off this field or cows grazed on it then you have a recipe for disaster in your garden if you use the manure from these cows. Your garden will just die off. If you use cow manure make sure that the hay, etc was not sprayed with Grazon before you use it. Just a little tip for those that may have had gardens but everything always died off. This could be your problem. I have been using Black Kow manure in my garden along with mushroom compost. I would like to find someone with cow manure they would like to get rid of to help my garden. I am finally going to try composting and I would like to add cow manure to it and let it all turn into black gold for my garden. If you happen to know anyone who has to much cow manure and they don't know what to do with it well I can help them out.
  9. They said it was a success. We will see down the road how successful it was. Will this affect other species who feed on mosquitoes. If the mosquito population decreases then so do the predators up the food chain. Now they say just one type of mosquito but who is to say they wont breed with other mosquitoes and decimate that population. Nothing good can come of this (IMHO) much like GMO food
  10. sorry I dont care. I see a 3 inch spider i may just take a shotgun to it.
  11. Only dug up about half the potato crop. It did really well considering. This was at my mothers we dug up a full plastic bag full. I am guessing around 4 or 5 pounds.
  12. Now for the watermelon and Cantaloupe I supported them with a simple little trick. I used panty hose. I just cut them and then just tied them onto the trellis. The will stretch with melons as they grow. Simple and cheap little trick for supporting your produce.
  13. I have built two identical trellises. One is at my mothers and the other is at my home. They are built exactly alike. They even have the same soil and fertilizer in it. Take a look at the difference You can see how the watermelon is doing with lots of sun versus the other one where the trees shade it a lot. The one has full sun all day long. also the trellis with the sun the plant are completely to the top now( i dont have a pic from today but it is completely covered) where as the other one well just barelky up the side. There is watermelon and cukes and cantaloupe on it but just as large as the one with full sun.
  14. That trellis costs me around $50 for the cattle panel and 4 posts. I made the boxes on the sides from wood I had and then spent around $15 for the garden soil.
  15. watermelon and cukes starting
  16. update on the garden. We need more sun and less rain that is for sure but all in all still not bad. Tomatoes are growing up the cattle panel with a little bit of help but looks like we can harvest easier this year without stepping on plants and tomatoes.
  17. Trellis is doing exceptional. The plants are growing well. They are getting more sun than the one I have at my house and it shows. Cucumbers are starting just in the past few days and she has some watermelon starting
  18. Newest addition to our family. We got her a few months ago. She was helping me take pics.
  19. Tomatoes are climbing the trellis with a little help
  20. I made a little tool out of a kitchen knife. I will use it to pul the dirt away from the onions to help them grow a bigger.
