  1. argghhh, thought I got them planted deep enough...maybe the ground heaved...followed the planting directions...not looking forward to replanting them, but will if I must...hope some of them will get a chance to bloom  :(

  2. While out enjoying the sun this afternoon, I noticed that my tulips are starting to poke their little selves out of the ground.  It is too early for this right?  I am afraid that all my backbreaking work last fall will amount to stunted or frozen stems, not the glorious, drifts of tulips that I envisioned....is there anyhing I can do, or will Mother Nature just have to take her course?

  3. Speaking of cannas, Petee the canna that I bought from your summer sale is gettiong ready to bloom(been watching and waiting all summer!) I know that it is late in the year and soon to frost, my question is when should I dig it up for next year?  It is going to bloom beautifully if we don't get a hard frost soon(praying that we don't!) and I want to be able to plant it next year again, so should I wait or should I dig it up soon?

  4. My beans are just beginning to poke through the ground. I placed them every 5 inches. I also have 2 rows of peas that are just poking through the ground. I still have to figure out what to do for a trellis for them.

my son took differing lengths of thin cut branches and wove them into a kind of fence behind his peas.  Looks cool and they have something to cling to as they grow...just a thought

    Where's the valley?

weedville, byrnedale, force... way north of where you are in big run(just read where you said you lived in th e garden forum!) a little far to get soap, I think.  Somewhere at the beginning of this thread, there was a place to order the fels online, it was even grated! Maybe that would help you find it.  It is the best detergent I have ever used and would hate to go back to the old stuff now...
