  1. I don't have exact measurements but I usually take 4 or 5 eggs and beat them up. Then I add enough flour to make a sticky dough. Then I dump flour on the cutting board and put the dough in the center and work in enough flour to  be able to roll them out. You don't want too much or they fall apart in the broth but if you don't get enough they stick to your rolling pin. I always put alot under them and then shake them off when I put them in the broth. I use a pizza cutter to cut them. Some people add a little baking powder to them too. Not an exact science. Hope it helps

Or...you can cheat and buy a couple bags of Klioski (sp) noodles.they are pretty good but you'll have to thicken them if you want a thick broth on them

  2. Mine was always "weeps" until my mother in law told me to use whole milk instead of 2%. so much for lower fat content in the pie. I tried it and they were firmer. also if you add more eggs that helps too. Also if you're using frozen berries be sure to let them drain good so the juice doesn't thin the custard. This is the one I use. You can cover the edges of the crust so they don't get too brown. Just uncover them before it's done baking if you want them a little browner.

    EASY CUSTARD PIE

    4 eggs

    1/4-1/2 cup sugar

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1/4 tsp. vanilla (optional)

    1 1/2 cups milk

    Nutmeg

    Cinnamon

    Pastry pie shell

    Blueberries

Beat eggs slightly, add sugar, salt and milk. Gently stir in berries.Pour in unbaked crust. Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon and bake in a preheated oven for about 350

  3. First the groundhogs got their cut ( and then some) of the cabbage. My beans are spotty as are the peas. We have the carrots and beets in a raised bed and they seem ok.  The corn is maybe hip tall and in tassle with tiny ears. We haven't fertilized for a couple years so I know it's time just want to find out what I need. Thanks for the suggestions.

  4. We tried the ashes and they didn't  work. We wet the plants first so the ashes would stick. and my rhubarb is really strange this year. I baked a strawberry / rhubarb pie or I thought I did. Really nice brown crust but when you sliced into it the rhubarb hadn't even cooked. It was hot but gooey. I had a blueberry pie do that once too.
