The powerhouse is still there but in pretty bad shape. They have been stripping the area again for about two years now but aren't going over to the building. Were you a member of the "Troutville Militia", whatever that was? That was painted at the top of what remains of the tipple.

I'm sure some people out there are thinking about spring cleaning. The DuBois Area Historical Society would appreciate donations of old photos, as well as old Couriers from 1950 through 1993. Even if you didn't want to donate a photo, if we don't have it let us make a copy for our records. We are open on Wednesdays only from 10 to 4 until April and then we will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10 to 4. You can also make an appointment. Stop in and visit. There's a lot to see.
