ps
Yesterday, I had an opportunity to do a photo shoot with a professional nature photographer... The subject was Pink Lady Slippers, an endangered wild flower and very rare in Pennsylvania... I hope that you enjoy the result..

lavender
Great shot! There are a few left around if you know where to look. Those who know don't tell. What is the out of focus yellow plant in the background?
lindlou99
I have around a thousand of them here in the woods on my farm more each year.
lavender
Lucky you! You must have a perfect spot for them. They say there is some bacteria or something that they need in the soil or they won't thrive. Someone told me once that they were growing around the parking lot at Bilger's Rocks. They are a protected and endangered species.
klsm54
There must have to be something special in the soil. My father transplanted wildflowers to the back of his yard. He had good luck with Jack in the Pulpits and Trilliums, but could never get the Lady Slippers to last.
