CUB FINDS NEW HOME:

Earlier this week, 6 News introduced a black bear cub found abandoned in a parking lot at a Home Depot in State College.

The cub was taken to Centre County Wildlife Care and paired with a foster mother bear.

Recently, the state game commission in Clinton County introduced the cub to its new foster family.

Original statement form the Pennsylvania Game Commission:

"The five-pound female black bear cub was found alone in a parking lot of a Home Depot in State College, Pennsylvania. The cub was taken to Center Wildlife Care, a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and later examined by Pennsylvania Game Commission wildlife veterinarian Dr. Brown. The cub's best chance for survival in the wild is to be adopted by another sow with cubs. The Pennsylvania Game Commission took the cub to a bear study area in Clinton County, where they had located a radio-collared sow with two other young cubs. The orphaned cub was given a dirt bath to remove human scent and was introduced to its new family. In these photos, you can see the orphaned cub and its foster siblings in a tree shortly after the reintroduction.

Please remember to leave young wildlife alone, even if the animals appear abandoned, because the mother is often nearby and planning to return. If you see an injured or orphaned bear cub, please call your region Game Commission office before touching it:http://bit.ly/PGCContactUs "

"I appreciate the concern folks have for wildlife, but it's important to take precautions before handling wildlife," said Centre County Wildlife Conservation Officer Mike Steingraber.
