Hannah Mae Marshall, age 92 formerly of Patterson Ave., DuBois, PA , died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
 

Born on February 18, 1930 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Kozminski) Ball.
 

On October 5, 1947 she married her high school sweetheart, John F. “Chum” Marshall. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2019.
 

Hannah was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.
 

She formerly attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in DuBois, and weekly Sunday church services at the DuBois Nursing Home.
 

Hannah is survived by her daughter, Anelia Lucas and her husband Ron of Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA. Known as Nana, she was the cherished grandmother to John Yount and his wife Kristie of DuBois, PA and Dr. Kristin Horvath and her husband Christopher of Mars, PA, and a very special great grandmother to Ian Yount of DuBois, PA, Mason Yount of Roanoke, VA, Christian Yount of Antigua, B.W.I. and Madeleine and Nolan Horvath of Mars, PA.  She is also survived by two brothers, Morgan “Flip” and James Ball, and two sisters, Thomasina Raybuck and Mary Jane Smith, all of DuBois, PA.
 

Hannah was preceded in death by two brothers; Infant Thomas Ball and John Ball and two sisters Margaret Hayes and Linda Resinger.
 

The family of Mrs. Marshall is forever thankful for the care and love given to her by the staff at the DuBois Nursing Home.  Nana will be greatly missed and loved forever.
 

In observing Hannah’s wish, there will be no public visitation. A private service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Dan Smith officiating.
 

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Jessica Dawn (Strishock) Swisher, age 43 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at her home after a  courageous, hard fought battle with cancer.

Born on March 14, 1979 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of Mark and Paula (Seary) Strishock. Her parents survive and live in DuBois.

On July 3, 1999, she married Matthew R. Swisher. He survives.

Jessica was a 1997 graduate of DuBois Central Catholic High School and had worked as a licensed esthetician. 

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was a devoted wife and  mother. 

Along with her husband and parents she is survived by her three children; Nicolas, Julian and Sadie Swisher. She is also survived by one brother Mark E. Strishock, Jr. and his wife Kristy of Clearfield, PA, two sisters; Jenna Nedzinski and her husband Drew and Stephanie Weber and her husband Jonathan both of DuBois, PA, her maternal grandmother Ethel Seary  and her paternal grandmother Rhoda Strishock, both of DuBois, PA and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather John “Jiggs” Seary and her paternal grandfather Stephen A. Strishock, Sr., and one uncle Randy Strishock.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 5, 2022 at 10 AM from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer, Father Ben Daghir and Father Matias Quimno as con-celebrants.

Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery.

▫️Investigation Leads to Arrest of Storm Lake Man for Felony Child Abuse
Storm Lake, IA  — A Storm Lake man is behind bars following an investigation by the Storm Lake Police Department, Department of Human Services and Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office. The investigation identified 60 year old Salvador Saldana-Jiminez as the suspect, who police allege had innapropriate contact with the child twice in the last five years.

▫️County detectives file multiple child sex charges against Harrison man; girlfriend also arrested
Adam Rezak, 37, of the 1100 block of Liberty Avenue was charged by Allegheny County Police with two counts each of indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault along with counts of unlawful contact with a minor, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of a minor, which all are felonies. Police also charged Rezak’s girlfriend, Lindsay Ann Crissman, 36, of Harrison, who was responsible for the teen’s care, with a felony count of endangering the welfare of a child.

▫️Iowa task force arrests 8 men seeking sex with 14-year-old
DES MOINES, Iowa – A sting operation targeting people seeking sex with underage individuals has resulted in eight arrests in the Des Moines metro. The three-day operation was conducted last week by the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Child Task Force. According to criminal complaints filed following the sting, the defendants contacted undercover detectives on an escort website seeking sex.

▫️Massachusetts man pleads guilty to child rape, trafficking
BROCKTON, Mass. - George Batchelder, 52, of Holbrook pleaded guilty to child rape, human trafficking and child enticement just before his trial was scheduled to start in Superior Court, and was sentenced to five years in prison, the district attorney’s office said in a statement.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lehigh Acres man was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for producing and possessing images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of a child. According to court documents, Heriberto Batista Montijo, 43, produced the images and videos of his sexual abuse against two minors.
