  3. found this in my mom's stuff. It was cut out of the Courier Express. On the back of the picture there is an article about President Nixon and his wife on a trip to Spain. I have not a clue as to when that was.

  12. Today I planted 4 different colors of canna's. 2 elephant ears, freecia's and 10 torenia's
  13. took these yesterday. A few more flowers are blooming. I definatly have to do something with the cactus this year ... it is getting way to big.
  14. not a clue what the name of the rose is. It was given to us in memory of my hubby's brother. I don't do anything to them. Cut it down to 6 inches in the fall, don't mulch it, cover it or anything. It probably shouldn't be trimmed down that much, but I want it kept small. It is out in the brutal winter weather bare. In the spring and summer, I give it some super bloom ... when I remember.
  15. took these tonight. The 1st flower on my cactus bloomed today. The peonies are almost done for the year ... they sure were huge this year.
  16. Thanks Petee!!! I found the info she was looking for ... prunning. I knew what the plant was, just couldn't think today ... worked to much this weekend.... need my batteries recharged.
  17. Want to know if the long "limbs" can be cut or broke off the plant and made into more plants.
  18. what is the name of this plant? I am too tired to think today.
  19. tulips, daffadils, crocus - to name a few. Bulbs are mostly planted in the fall. If you want flowers all summer into fall, you will need to plant annuals. I would plant the bulbs so you have flowers in the spring, then fill in around them with annuals. don't cut down your bulb flowers after they are done blooming. You will want to wait till the leaves die, they are gathering energy for next years flowers.
  20. Vinca - stays green all year, blooms small purple flowers several times a year, is low to the ground.
  21. peepers should be singing soon .. hopefully the end of the month
  22. how much are you watering it? did you transplant it when you bought it? are you giving it any fertilizer, is so how much and how often? What type of light do you have it in?
  23. actually, groovy, peace out, and a few others are making there way back or have been. Seems like all the kids have been into peace signs for the last 2 years along with all the stuff from the late 60's and early 70's. I was a little young then, but I'm sure Gene Allen remembers it very well - or maybe not- lol.
  24. grow them up a trellis http://www.helium.com/items/901615-growing-cucumbers-on-a-trellis
