  1. I live in Jefferson. I will keep an eye out for the info
  2. You can use any pictures you like. I may like to join one of your classes sometime also to get some more tips.
  3. No deer. Occasionally one might pass through the yard but my mother lives in town. I have never seen a groundhog near her place plus they cannot get into the raised garden. Now the trellis and strawberries I have worried about that but figured I would wait and see. So far no chipmunks have stolen her strawberries and she has eaten quite a few already.
  4. I will post more pics tomorrow of how much the garden has grown and also of my strawberry garden, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, potato garden, my wife's garden, blueberry's etc. For those that will ask yes the fencing cost me a lot of money but if you enjoy something then what is a few dollars. Plus over the long haul it will pay for itself and it looks so much cleaner and sturdier.
  5. As you can see I used cattle panel for my fencing and also for my tomato trellises. We will see how they do. I kept them 18 inches off the ground but i think I should have went with 12. This will give the plants much needed air circulation and help with rot.
  6. Trying to changed the usual GoDuBois banter to something more serene and relaxing for me anyway. I redid my garden this year. I added new fencing etc and am trying a new tomato trellis. We will see how it goes. I will start from beginning to today. As soon as it gets light again I will get some more pics of the garden. I didn't plant my garden until the second week of June. I had some health issues that kept me unable to do even menial tasks. With a little pain meds, my wife and my Granddaughter I did manage to get the garden planted. I got my garden tilled and then added two layers of paper with the help of my Grandson Brayden. I then added mushroom compost to the top of it.
  7. I found one pic of the cabbage and also another of the trellis
  8. For those that did not see the raised bed last year here it is again.
  9. the strawberry garden, potato garden and the trellis with cantaloupe, cucumbers and watermelon on it. I started today to put weed barrier down and mulch as they were taking over the area. I still need to complete that task. Pics I had of the cabbage, peppers etc did not show up on my camera apparently I did not hold the button down long enough.
  10. Today's pics of the raised garden
  11. pics of the main garden I built last year. These are this years vegetables
  12. I have been lax in taking pics of the raised garden i built my mother last year. It has really taken off this year and she already has harvested Celery, Onions and Cabbage. The cabbage took over the small garden and they grew extremely well. I will have to build their own little garden area next year and plant more. I also added a trellis and a potato garden. Here are some pics. Figured we all needed a break from TL, Consolidation, Biden etc threads. These first pics are a round 3 foot fire ring that is the strawberry garden. A 8 foot by 4 foot potato garden. A trellis with small gardens on either side. These are all made of live edge lumber I got a few years ago. More to come
  13. I saw this on facebook on a farm and market group. ************************** By Kimberly Bruce This plant is killing songbirds across North America! If you have one or see one with berries, cut off the berries and compost them. Nandina domestica (heavenly bamboo) is from China and so our birds mistake it for a food source. The seeds contain a ton of cyanide and cause a swift and extremely painful death. I cut the berries off my neighbours yesterday, but he said he has already found a few dead birds. Such a simple thing could save hundreds of lives. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3005831/
  14. I am not sure which plant in the garden my wife picked from. I bought about a dozen varieties of peppers this year.. She was going to show me which plant she got this one off of tomorrow.
  15. No I purchased these just outside of Brookville near Stanton
  16. I have many tomatoes this year as well. Although I am a bit disappointed where I bought my tomatoes as I have many which are not the variety I purchased.
  17. I have lots of peppers this year and many are this size and a couple a little bigger.
