Thank you so much for sharing those pics!!! The house and grounds were beautiful. I can't even imagine what it would look like today if someone had been able to restore and preserve it...

I agree that many times it would cost way too much to repair and fix up these old buildings. But I am angry that people let them get that way to begin with. These buildings were a part of our towns history and should be honored for that... the fact that the bewery got to be in such a state is a shame. Something should have been done a long time ago. We should learn from those cases and start to preserve the buildings we have now and not let our town look like a ghost town where it seems like no one cares about it!

I am wondering if it isn't the Highland St. side, because I live over on the other end of town and if you look west, all you see are hills going up and this shows one going down.

I was also wondering... anyone have a "recipe" for dishwashing liquid... for those of us who don't have a dishwasher and have to scrub by hand....

Or we could mix the two and call it Clean & Green From Scratch... just a thought

I know I am a bit late on this topic, but I really think that this is a good idea... making your own detergents and such... I really like the idea about a forum just for "green" ideas!! Thank you so much for the information, I am going to try it as soon as I get the ingredients and also pass on the "recipe" to other family members. Keep the info coming!
