  1. Can't find my stuffing casserole recipe.  Used torn up regular bread or kaiser rolls, had cream of mushroom, maybe cream of celery soup in it along with sauteed onions and celery, some kind of herbs.

Does this ring any bells?   I saw the stuffing recipe on here with eggs but I think that would make a tighter version of stuffing than I'd like.  I tried the campbells soup website but all their recipes use packaged and pre-seasoned bread cubes.

    help is appreciated.

  2. I'm going to empty/cleanout/demolish/refresh-til-next-year my 4 window boxes.  Each one has a 'spike' plant.   I get them every year and every autumn they end up becoming mulch (although I have cherished them all summer long, they have been loved).  I'm not a big fan of house plants - just ask my Peace Lilly who is always gasping for water, poor thing :'(     However, I believe these are a form of  dracena and certainly could be a house plant if someone wanted to make them so.

Any ideas, anyone want to give these plants a new home - plant them all together in one pot and start twisting/braiding their stems together - I think that they could grow to be quite tall over time.  Just not in my house.

So, this year, in the interest of recycling, I thought I'd ask if anyone wanted to volunteer to give them a new home.

  3. Thanks for the link, Tira.  I passed it along to my vegetarian daughter.  She doesn't use ANY animal-tested products or even products made from animals - gelatin, lanolin and such.  She pays a dear price for the products she buys.   I suggested that she might add a drop of a favorite essential oil as well.

  4. Just wanted to say, that it has been two years since this thread has started and I am still making the laundry soap.  It drives me crazy when I see the prices of laundry detergent when it can be made for pennies!

That made me chuckle, I too noticed that this thread started two years ago.  I used to make my own

detergent but with my front loading washer I bought a box of powdered detergent that cost about $25.

Now I know that $25 will make a lot of home made detergent but I use it a tablespoon at a time and I

think it will last me for about three years at the rate I'm going.   It will probably outlast the new washer if

it doesn't stop shaking so much.
