  6. Thank you to all the businesses and people that made the first Wreaths Across America in DuBois such a success! We placed over 100 wreaths on veterans graves.
  7. Thank you to Dr. Beverly Chiarulli and the IUP students for all your help Friday, September 16, 2011 at Rumbarger Cemetery to try to locate unidentified grave sites. The efforts of Dr. Beverly Chiarulli, the IUP students and Paul Sprague, President of the Rumbarger Cemetery Preservation Society were featured on WJAC-TV at the following link. http://www.wjactv.com/video/29211824/index.html If anyone has a spare hour any time please feel free to go the Cemetery to mow or trim. You can pick any place you would like to work on and at any time. There is no sign up, just show up, pick a place and mow or trim. Your time and effort would be greatly appreciated by the Society and the Community.
  8. A community workday is scheduled for this Saturday July 9th. Bring your mower, clippers, chain saw, shovel or weed eater. Even one hour of work makes a big difference. Anyone can show up at any time to help out. You pick what you want to trim. If you can't make it Saturday, you can go to the cemetery any time on any day to help out. Thanks!
  9. Rumbarger Cemetery Clean-Up Day. Thanks to Kaitlyn Carpinello and Eric Fustine from Mohney-Yarger Funeral Chapel for helping to rake leaves around the Soldiers Circle and Childs Mausoleum, sweep the sidewalk, level dirt on sunken graves and hauling broken branches. Lots more to be done before Memorial Day! Call 814-661-4596 and leave a message if you want to help.

  11. Adopt a Section of Rumbarger Cemetery for upkeep and maintenance throughout the year. Contact the Rumbarger Cemetery Preservation Society for details.
  12. Just a reminder, we hope to see you there. Rumbarger Cemetery is part of this clean up day! Community Clean-Up Saturday, April 30, 2011 is Clean-Up Day for the Greater DuBois Area and community organizations and groups. After meeting at the City Park at 9:00am, the various groups will travel to all parts of the community to restore the beauty and warmth as summer approaches. Once finished, all registered groups will report back to the City Park pavilion for a complimentary lunch provided by area businesses.

  14. Cub Scout Troop 36 from Mt. Zion United Methodist Church volunteered to put flags on the Veterans graves in Rumbarger Cemetery on Saturday, April 24th. They also helped pick up limbs, pine cones, garbage and removed flowers. Pictured left to right: Marc Smith, Evan Zedek, Zachary Munn, Daniel Cooley. Thanks to the boys for doing a great job!!!
  15. Just a Reminder: The Rumbarger Cemetery Preservation Society is havng a Public Meeting tonight at 7:00pm, April 27, 2011 at the VFW in DuBois, PA. Anyone interested in the maintenance and improvement of the Rumbarger Cemetery is welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!
