Who's in the News? ▫️SPECIAL OPERATION NETS 42 ARRESTS FOR CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN Operation Cyber Highway Safety Check: Arkansas State Police say 42 suspects arrested in crimes against children sweep, 5 children rescued, 22 id'd State Police operation rescues 5 children from sex abuse, 2 from sex trafficking; 63 cases currently being prosecuted LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials are calling a recent operation to stop child sex predators by Arkansas State Police a significant success. Officers also rescued five children from ongoing sexual abuse and identified 22 children as new victims. Officials tallied 178 search warrants executed and over 1,600 home visits with registered sex offenders during the operation. Members of the ASP’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force started 160 investigations and have submitted 63 cases for prosecution to state and federal courts. Officials said 45 cases have become grand jury indictments. In two cases that involved child sex trafficking, arrests were made and ongoing investigations across multiple states are in progress. "These are five kids that we identified through online exploitation. These are not kids that came forward and disclosed. And so these were kids that were found because of their online presence. To us, that's a huge win. Wayne S. “Butch” Worden was arrested at his home on Military Highway on May 30 for sexual battery, molestation of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile. Further evidence led to even more charges, including, 1,087 counts of sexual abuse of an animal, 109 counts of pornography involving juveniles and 43 additional counts of molestation of a juvenile. Joseph Hefner, aka Joseph Jones is being held on $500,000 bail. He was charged Tuesday, June 4, with rape of a child, child molestation and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. On May 2, the King County Sheriff's Office received a report of a sex offense against a child. The Collin County Grand Jury returned three indictments on June 4th against Sheldon Vonshey Evans, for the criminal offenses of Trafficking of a Child, Aggravated Kidnapping and Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact. According to the indictments and the Richardson Police arrest affidavits in this case, in December of 2022 Evans met a 16 year old child in the Atlanta, Georgia area and Evans arranged for the child to travel to Texas. Kentucky State Police are asking for the public’s help as they search for an eight-month-old baby. Police say Miya Tucker, of Reynolds Station Kentucky, was not found during a welfare check and search conducted at a motel room where they were found with fentanyl and methamphetamine. Her mother, Tesla Tucker, 29, has been arrested and is facing several charges, including abandonment of a minor. Her father, Cage C. Rudd, 30, was also arrested and charged at the same time. Police described the parents as uncooperative and said there is a chance the child is in the care of other family members. Tucker has brown hair and green eyes. At the time, authorities would only say he was wanted on a warrant that stemmed from a secret indictment. The suspect, described as a man between 20-22 years of age, grabbed a 16-year-old girl from the sidewalk, struck her in the face and put her in his vehicle, according to Chicago police. » ▫️Live Oak man sentenced to 40 years in prison in connection with child trafficking case BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office announced a prison sentence for a Live Oak man accused of child trafficking and child pornography charges. According to court documents, between at least April 2017 and November 2020, Michael Anthony Baxter, 50, and the child sex trafficker conspired to use children, some as young as three years old, to produce more than 30 livestreaming webcam shows depicting the sexual abuse of the children. Baxter’s co-conspirator was arrested in the Philippines in February 2021 for human trafficking offenses. On Feb. 28, 2023, Chavez attempted to join an online website claiming to help share the so-called “original” child pornography content via the Tor network. State troopers told the Wells family that Julia’s body had been found on Dallas North Tollway. Mark Dailey, 51, of Plano, Nikki Jordan, 48, of Fort Worth and Anna Hudson, 42, of Mabank were arrested earlier this month in connection to human trafficking charges. Dailey was charged with trafficking resulting in death, trafficking and compelling prostitution. Jordan faces trafficking and compelling prostitution charges. Hudson was charged with trafficking. In 2021, the Julia Wells Act was signed into law.
