David L. Kessler (age 78)
David L. Kessler, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on March 10, 2026. He was born December 26, 1947, in DuBois, the son of the late Carl and Adeline (Snyder) Kessler. He was the devoted husband of Susan (Foust) Kessler for 57 years. Together, they built a life centered on family, loyalty, and hard work. He was a proud father to three daughters Amy Kessler, Holly Genevro and her husband Jeffrey, and Sherry Kessler, and a loving grandfather to Carter and Avery, who brought him endless joy. He also shared a special bond with his grand puppy, Kensi, who was always happy to share a little ice cream with him. He is also survived by his brother Danny and his wife Diane, and many friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Kessler. A proud Vietnam veteran, he carried his service with quiet pride. He spent much of his career working at Rockwell and later Sensus, where he was known for his strong work ethic and mechanical skill. Even after work, he kept busy running cars to and from auctions. He was known as someone who could fix just about anything. If something broke, he would figure out how to repair it, and if a part didn't exist, he would make one himself. His mechanical talent fueled his love for antique car restoration and classic cars. He was also a frequent visitor to antique car shows across the region, enjoying both the craftsmanship and the stories behind each vehicle. Dave was also an avid pool player. He enjoyed playing in many leagues in the area throughout the years. He treasured the many friendships that he made over the years. He was part of the local racing community at Hummingbird Speedway and enjoyed traveling to racing events throughout Pennsylvania. Whether at the track, at car shows, or working on a project in the garage, he was happiest around cars, engines and the people who loved them. Stubborn in his ways but generous at heart, he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Most mornings, you could find him at the Bobbette sipping tea, sharing stories, and enjoying plenty of good-natured BSing with the breakfast crew, simple moments he truly cherished. His garage was more than a workspace; it was a place where old cars came back to life, stories were shared, and memories were made. He built many things with his hands in this life, but his greatest legacy is the family, friendships, and memories he leaves behind. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10 AM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DuBois Area Honor Guard, PO Box 907, DuBois, PA 15801 and/or a charity of your choice. Online condolences can be sent to https://www.baronickfuneralhome.com/condolence -
