  1. Not mine Rose of Sharon is just starting to get a little green on it not even close to being ready to bloom. this other one is just loaded with the flowers. usually the fist thing to bloom in the spring around here besides the pear and apple
  2. not near as symetrical need a closer look bark almost looks like a birch, but red or brown
  3. Ok GoDuBois gardeners, we have lived here 16+ almost 17 years this tree has bloomed in our yard every year. We have yet to actually know officially what it is. some say flower almond. bark almost looks birch family. never gets any fruit or pods or anything other than these pink flowers and once they are gone just green leaves.

  10. I don't know for what reason, but someone cut into all the wild ones out here along the road. thought maybe they were loooking to make a wreath but they just cut through them and took nothing
  11. I know someone can give me a good answer. my sister just yesterday received saplings from the Arbor Day foundation that she has been expecting since spring. what should she do with them now? It would be to cold to putt into groun right? And then there would be a chance of animals eating them off right. TIA

  13. Yes you can save the bulbs we have a bed and we dig them up after teh frost has killed off the tops and try and get as much soil off we can. tehn we bag them up and keep tehm in basement where tehy won't dry out or get too cold

  15. Dept of Ag dropped lots of flies earlier this spring/summer to help eat the gypsy moth larva I think ot at least one of those other bugs. Further north you og the worse they get or got
  16. Yep that is it Thaks did not think it was the same as tomato just had noticed it at the time when I was checking maters
  17. I noticed my one maple tree the underside of all the leaves are getting brown spots on them
  18. Marbek composting is not that hard. there is usually a couple seminars in the fall you could attend and they always give composters away. Hardest part is just trying to keep the right mix in it. I have been working one for not quite a year now and have no bad smell yet. it is all about the proper mix

  20. everything looks to be doing very well right now with the exception of the Zucchini. all the blossoms are falling off with no sign of a zucchini coming lettuce has been great and tomatoes are coming on as well
