1. It hasn't hit main stream media...so he mght not have a clue...but have him read the prelim report and see what he thinks. I'm seeing lots of buzz that the testing results seem up and up, and if they were done correctly the results are pretty amazing...just will it pass peer rfeview and get published in a valid and upstanding science journal. Me personally..I'm not really and never was that science-minded..so it is like reading a foreign language unless someone explains it in simplier terms. From what I gather the mtDNA (mother dna) woulo be from an until now non-documented humanoid species....one we do not have a dna write up on, and the other side (daddy) is also an undocumented type of primate...no-human...all dating back to the species evolving about 15,000 years ago. That would mean the species were close enough in make-up to produce off-spring that can reproduce..somethng that really hasn't been seen before. (tigers and lions=ligers..but they are then sterile etc) When I get reading the science stuff there are some higher intelligence science people that are guessing at which ancient man it is part of...and which thought to be extinct primates were around in those times. Wow..it goes rpound and round...and I get more than a little lost with them....lol
2. I think she is a geneticist, if I remember right from following this story for the last few years. I think she was actively involved in the dna recovery and matching after 9-11. To call her a mere veternarian isn't doing justice to themany degrees and positioons she has. The study is in peer review atm, with hopes of beng published in Nat. Geo or another Science magazine. (can't remember all the details, like I said I've been following this for years.) It was kicked out of peer review once to be tweaked..and has been resubmitted. (I think smething was wrong with the way something was written up...??) The samples have come from multiple habituation sites, projects and just plain chance (Sierra Kills). The one area they worked in in KY is supposed to have some icredible footage...still pictures and video, that was tied up in a legal battle for quite awhile as to who had ownership of their rights. Right now all involved are under a NDA and this was leaked out by someone. None of these results were supposed to be released before it got through peer review and was published.) The data, methods and scientists involved are all still under the NDA (non0disclosure order) and will come out when the paper is through peer review and published...it will all be in there. Interesting to watch it all unfold....BUT without a body, there will still be many many non-believers. What this MIGHT do is turn a few heads in the science world and get some more support...as in encouragment and also maybe some research $$$$..and maybe a whole lot less ridicule for the scientists that are studying this now. This could still be a year or years away from publication...again this was a leak that wasn't supposed to come out..but if you follow the REAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH on bigfoot...not the info-tainment on tv...you would know this has been in the works for years already.

5. What guy..and where is the suit? Just curious..I would like to meet him and see the suit.
6. I've read many reports of them getting hit by cars. No..I can't give yo links, because I've read for years on multiple BF sites, and don't have the ones involving cars bookmarked.
7. funny...I see a lot of mocking going on in the big foot/Rockton thread. With posts like that, I see this forum dying quickly.
8. We had the blight or bottom rot or what ever for the last few years on our tomatos. We usually plant about 50-60 plants to can sauces and salsa. So this year we just skipped the big garden and I put a few plants in one of my flower gardens instead of flowers. My tomatos are doing great, and even with only two plants I get a few ripe ones each week. Also 2 cuke plants, 1 zucchini plant, and two each of hot and green peppers is giving us a nice little bit of everything.
9. Mine did that once before..I was told it's called a rooster. Bon..I have some you can have if we can meet up sometime. PM me if you are interested..but I'll be away from the computor for a few days, starting tomorrow late morning..so don't think I'm ignoring you if I don't get back to you right away. They are in a pot ready to go, and I'll save them for you.
10. I don't think the beak looks right for either a cross-bill or a grossbeak. And the head and beak are wrong for a thrasher..they have a long beak and a longer tail. Interesting..I hope someone can give you a positive ID on it, so I can know too! I couldn't find naything in any of our bird books with that coloring with a dark, short beak.
11. I saw themost incredible herb garden today at a geocache in Bedfore County...along Rt 30, right where it crossed under I-70/76 and where Rt 30 intersected with Rt 31. It was at an Inn, but I forget the name. Wow...even my husbnad ws impressed and said he might have to make meone like that! (you cold walk through it, small paths, neat stonework, cute fencing..etc)
12. Stella D'oros...nooooooo! How did iI miss those?? (esp for $1??) there is a camp by ours that has them, and I keep eyeing them up waiting for them to need thinned!! (and I'll be there with shovel in hand! lol) I put my (your) Susans in a place they are free to take over! I actually started an herb garden this year. I put in oregano (that came from my dad's patch) the choc. mint, cat nip, basil and cilantro, They are all "contained" (yeah right..we all know how THAT works!!) and any that grow out of their designated spots will just be pulled out in the spring.
13. We have two 100 foot+ pine trees in front of our house, and our Rhodendrum (also in the front of the house), is up to my second story!
14. I bet I bought some of yours this year at the sale a few weeks back. I got two pots, and they are doing wonderful where I stuck them. (I know, this is an old post, but it's a slow night here and I'm reading old stuff!)
15. I laughed when I was at my son's house in NClast summer. The whole area is pines, so a lot of pine mulch laying around. One neighbor would rake and bag his up for garbage, the other neighbor would buy bags and dump it in his own yard. Why these guys didn't work together and help each other out, even my son didn't know! lol I do have to say, we got the most awesome HUGE pinecones while we were there. Now, what to do with them?? (I think spray paint, some glitter and a few ribbons for Christmas decorations)
16. A great big THANK YOU to the teachers and students who grew the plants in the green house behind the school, and then took them around town to plant them at various businesses. I know the day they walked around town doing it was brutal hot..one of those 90+ degree days, but they all made it work! What great kids and what a great service for the community!
17. My husband put in a few bushes this year, and put wire fencing around them to keep the deer out.
18. I bought some a few weeks ago from another plant sale. It really transplanted well. This is the first time I've ever had this, so I don't know how much we will use it though.
19. Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix (better then those pouches you buy in the store!!) 1 7 qt box of powdered milk 22 oz cremora 22 oz Nesquik POWDER (I couldn't find a 22 oz, so I bought a 30 oz, and the kids talked me into using the whole thing because there is no such thing as "too much chololate") 1 pd powdered sugar Mix all together in a LARGE bowl. (I actually use my corn pot) Use 1/3 cup of the mix to a coffee cup of HOT water. top with marshmellows or marshemellow fluff if you want. Enjoy!! Store in an airtight container. Makes great gifts!
20. does anyone else use their breadmaker for Pizza Dough and Strombolies? this is a quick and easy dough recipe I use all the time for both: 1 c water 1 tbls olive oil 1 tsp salt 3 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp yeast drop inot your breadmaker and push that "dough" button...mine takes about an hour and fifteen minutes and I have dough for a yummy pizza. this is good for a 16 inch round or 13x9 square..medium crust.
21. How about HOT WING CHICKEN SPREAD 3-4 boneless/skinless chicken breast, cooked shred this in blender, food processer or however (I like to use my Pampered Chef chopper) 3-4 stalks celery also run through food processor or chop very small Mix these two together, add in 1 8 oz bottle of blue cheese, 8 oz cream cheese and a small bottle of Franks Red Hot. Put this all in a cassarole dish sprayed with cooking spray, and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. This is sooooooo goood spread on crackers!! tastes just like wings. Great for a holiday "bring a dish" party...once you start eating it, you can't stop!!!
22. Spiced Pretzels I made these last night...very easy, but yummy!! 1 bag of the sourdough pretzels, broken into small pieces In large bowl mix 3/4 cup oil with 1 pkg of Hidden Valley Ranch dry mix, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper and 1/2 tsp garlic powder. (use more of each is you like things really hot...we have kids so we use these amounts) Dump the pretzels in and swish around to get them all coated. Leave sit for 15-30 minutes to soak it in good. Spread on a cookie sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes at 300*. At least once while baking, swish them around. Cool and eat....(okay..they are even better warm.)
