  2. I was just going to say that. Only add the amount of sauce and pasta for that night, then freeze the rest of the sauce.
  3. Yes a list is a definite MUST! Have you tried cooking meals and freezing some of the leftovers into individual servings?
  4. Well some of us would like to avoid that.. I could help you make homemade pizza
  5. Sometimes it works out like that, but we usually don't cook things we don't like. I have a recipe folder that is old stand bys and family favorites.. we have couple of those, and I ask the boys what they would like to have this coming week. Sometimes we do switch days, but at least I have a plan, it keeps me out of the store buying things we might have at some point, and I don't have to scurry around at dinner time trying to put something together. Its really nice for my SO to come home from work and dinner be ready for him when he gets threw the door. Menu planning isn't for everyone, but this thread is for those who are interested to get useful tips. Its easier to figure out dinner when you have a plan, instead of looking in the fridge hoping something good will appear.
  6. This week I will menu plan only from what I have in my fridge, freezer, and/or pantry. I will only buy milk, fresh veggies or produce if it is a really good sale. The only way I will buy anything else if it is dirt cheap. I do most of my shopping at Wegman's, WalMart Super Center, Weis, and Hometown Market. I realize you don't have any of those stores in DuBois, but I can still help you figure out what is a good sale, if there are coupons available for the item, and if I have any great meal ideas for things on sale. I also buy a lot of personal items at CVS using the ECB game. You can learn a bit about the ECB game at www.iheartcvs.com I will menu plan tonight since I have a busy weekend with my bridal shower.
  7. What if you buy cheap soil and mix it with some more expensive soil to stretch it more? I hope we don't end up with the blight issue again this summer, what a waste.
  8. Light night we were coming home from a friends house and I told my son not to run that the ground was icy. He fell down of course.. moms know nothing ya know... he stood up, balled up his fist, and screamed I AM SICK OF WINTER!!

  11. Aww, sweetie tis the simple things in my life that make my heart flutter. I can remember how excited my Pappy would get over the seed catalogs, that garden is truly what kept him alive.
