  2. I just checked and I don't have any seeds lef t( I was going to send you some if I had any) but Kmart has them back by the door to the garden center. But put them where they can spread cause they really spread.
  3. I just looked at ours and theres blossoms coming already
  4. I never thin them. I make a row and sow them in. If you keep picking them they will pproduce more. I had 4 rows last year and got almost 100 pints and they were still coming on. I gave bunches away. I was always told not to pick them when they were wet cause they would rust. Must be the iron in them lol
  5. You can use tang in the dishwasher too to get rid of stains and odor
  6. planting marigolds keep the bugs and critters out of ours. we did a border around the garden. Course when it was time to pull the seeds we had two five gallon buckets of just seeds no seed pods just seeds. Anybody and everybody that had marigolds for miles around had seeds from us. lol
  7. there is no way I am picking those things up for fishing. I'll stick to worms. lol My dughter used beer for grubs and it worked for her. They were definately grubs. They are most hidious things I've ever seen. yuk yuk yuk!!!!! Thanks for the suggestions though.
  8. How can Iget rid of grub worms? I can't use beer but I have heard that it works. I would like something non toxic
  9. I killed mine:roll: I have a black thumb
  10. I put the cukes out and they were wrapped around the pipes in the basement lol
  11. From the pictures I saw on the internet it kinda looks like blight. If you google tomatoe or garden blight there are several sites to help. One days something about using an aspiran spray of some kind, I don't know for sure but everyone that has seen your pictures here say the same thing so I googled it
  12. First we have blossoms on our pumpkins and now on the cukes.
  13. I have the orange ones and the double flower ones. I'm just getting my flower beds to really bloom this year. So I want to add more for next year. I have no idea what they're called but they are pretty. I like all of the ones you have but the ones in the last row are really pretty
  14. We had to plant our pumpkins last weekend. Of course they all died but one and the one has blossoms believe it or not
  15. I found some really neat blue, red and purple grass but it didn't even grow. You have to remember that in my flower bed ( the big one is hubby's, all I have blooming is a purple weed lol.
  16. This is true but we wanted to be sure the seeds were good. Well apparently they were really good judging by the size of the plants
  17. K thanks for the suggestions. My daffys didn't bloom and the blackeyed susans didn't come up last year for some reason. I have bunches of iris'and different kinds of lilies also some zebra grass, but like you said I need something that blooms at different times. I don't mind green but everything here is green, the yard, the house, the trees. (You can see where I'm going with this lol.)Thats why I'm having trouble figuring out what to plant. Where is your plant sale?
  18. thats what i thought. thank heavens there isn't a field of them lol.
  19. I need some ideas on what kind of flowers I can put in my flower bed. It's pretty good size and would like something that blooms but also comes back every year. We have a couple azaleas,a rose bush, hostas and lilies in there right now. I'd like to have color in it over the summer months but anm at a loss at what to plant. It seems like all the ones I like don't grow around here. Thanks for any help.
  20. K thanks. I had to plant my pumpkins. We started them too early and they started vining across the ceiling in the basement. lol. They look ok this morning. If it gets too cold I'll have to cover them. Thanks again
  21. Hey Snellma, do you ma ke freezer jelly or cooked? If you make cooked could could I have your recipe? I make freezer jelly but didn't know if you could use frozen berries. We go through probably 20 containers over the winter. Thanks
  22. Some potatoes are ttreated so yo get all stalk and no tators so people won't buy cheaper bags of tators at the store instead of planting tators. I had this happen when I used a partial bag of store bought that were growing eyes and didn't get one potato out the row.
  23. We had critter problems our garden. The groundhogs would sit and eat tomaties like they were apples the deer ate anythign they could get to. . I planted one package of marigolds around my garden and have not a problem with any critters since. They're pretty but they stink. Out of that one package I deadheaded enough seeds to fill a 5 gallon bucket for the next year. I had marigolds everywhere and as did all my friends.
  24. How about some Crown Vick?(sp) It will spread downward and has little purple flowers. It comes back too. I planted some on a bank and it grew down to cover the bank instead of up.
